Burton RED Audex Audio Earpads

Hey guys, I have the Burton RED helmet and I was thinking of upgrading to the Audio Earpads because the iPod headphones are a pain to use when you're with buddies and want to talk/listen once in a while. The earpads come with automute and volume control on the cord you can use with gloves on.

I don't see these very often on the mountain and I was wondering if anybody here has them or has used them and can comment on the sound quality of either the regular audio ones or the more expensive subwoofer ones?

Thanks.

My girlfriend has a HiFi audex and its fricken awesome. The sound quality is great and the mute button is super convenient. I don't see the volume adjuster being used that often, but I supposed it is easier than going into your jacket. It definitely beats headphones but is a little pricey. Not sure how it compares to Giro tune-ups.

haha. not at all. you take out the current earpads and replace them with identical looking ones that have speakers in them. theyre pretty much exactly the same.

Actually, they dont have a volume control on the cord. After the preliminary photos were taken (for shops etc.) they decided to ditch the idea of the volume control on the cord, and that is when they integrated the one-touch mute button on the earpiece. That is why the description says that there is the one-touch mute, while the pictures show the volume control.

i know some people with them, i think they look hoooooooooooooooooj!

way bulkier.

I have a hifi, i took out the earpads and the liner and just wear a touque underneath. I dont like the bulkiness of it, but i like the helmet for sure.

I find that its ffine to just pop out my earphone when i wnna talk to someone, i have rad gloves so i dont have a problem finding my earhole.

But go get em, i hear the sound is outta this world.

woooha, gotchya all in check!
