so i've been doing filming all summer with a skater, various place etc. just finished the whole edit and im trying to burn it to dvd for him and i cant get it to work. right now its saved as a avi file, and im using nero burning software and a external dvd burner. if anyone could help me out that would be amazing, i think you would be my new best friend.

As far as editing programs i have premier pro and movie maker! and for burning nero 7.

i tried to export it as a mpeg-2 then when i tried to burn in to dvd it said i could not write on that kind of disc. im using a sony dvd-r 120min/4.7BG

maybe u shouldn't save it in an avi file. i save all mine in dvd image files and they burn fine. also, what kinda dvd do you have and what kinda dvd burner do you have? make sure that you can burn the type of dvd that you're trying to burn onto, cuz if you can't, it aint gon work.

quicktime pro can split the audio and video into a m2v and an m4a. then just open nero. drop them into the video and audio folder.. burn away.

you need a program to split the .avi or .wmv or what ever file into two a video ts and audio ts. nero does this, i assure you. check download.com for a freeware. try dvd shrink.

No no, you cant do it yourself. You need a program to run it for you. Go to download.com and search Dvd burning software. Read the descriptions and find a freeware that will convert and burn files.
