welp, the snow finally hit my town and i cant wait to hit some street spots i've been looking at all summer. whats your guys' advice on getting speed? I'm spending all of my money on a season pass so I can't really afford a winch or even a banshee bungee. would you guys suggest making one? or should I just make a portable drop in?

I've been wondering the same thing. I was looking at YouTube videos and it looks like its easy to make a decent one, especially if you use thicker cord

I ordered a bunch of bungee cord from Amazon last winter. I think if got like half inch diameter. Braided the 3 together and it was too strong to pull it back with just 1 person. Turns out all you need is like 1 of those cords for some speed even tho it’s only half an inch in diameter. Does the trick especially if you can yank that thing super far back.

so with one ~1/2 inch cord, you can use it yourself by just tugging on it and sidestepping back slowly before letting it pull you?

That's what I'm saying Im pretty sure someone died with a banshee bungee and that's why they went out of business, with a lawsuit

It's whatever though I've definitely thought about getting one before

I don't know whether or not that happened but I did hear that some guy got injured (he did recover) and his mom successfully sued banshee

Find natty speed spots. Better in every way. Worry about hitting spots that need artificial speed later.

Yeah I mean I only used it once on a spot where a guard rail was in the way so we couldn’t really pull it back any further but it still did the trick. Helps if you have more than one person to help pull tho.

OP, as Dan said, natural speed spots are the way to go. More fun, easy, and they’re just pure IMO. If you have a bunch of rails you wanna hit but don’t have hills for them, build and set up a wooden dropin. If you watch most street videos being released as of late you’ll see em throughout, pause the video screenshot and get an idea how to build the thing.

I would make a drop in, way more fun to use than a bungee. Sure the best are natty speed spots, but you can't just rely on that. Everyone seems to make the same wooden drop in these days which is definitely cheap to make. I bought a scaffolding at home depot for my drop in, but it gets more expensive

one of these things work, you can chain them together by clipping the each end together make a loop.

attach the strongest one to your anchor point then make the chain in order of heaviest to lightest and clip both ends of the final one to one of the handles.
