building your own computer's easy just buy all the parts and when they arrive at your house just put it together, its pretty simple just put everything where it need's to go. I built my own computer for $1081 and bought all the parts on newegg.com, tigerdirect.com is good also but their prices are more exspensive. As long as you know how to format and load an operating system and load drivers and software and what not you can easily build your own computer reliably and cheaply. If you cant figure it out just use google.com and you can get all the resources you'll need to figure it out.

newegg.com and zipzoomfly.com are the best in my opinion. ive built a couple of computers for myself and friends by purchasing parts from newegg. there are sites such as anandtech.com that give recommended system guides by price range that you could check out if you dont know what to buy, or just ask a friend.

I had Tigediect build my GF's computer (she wanted something warrantied).

I ordered all the parts for my Linux cube from Tigerdirect and built it myself.

newegg.com is where i got all the stuff to build my computer. it ended being about 500 without a video card and cd rom. if you were to buy a computer with the same stats as mine from dell, it would probably be about 2000.

i bought and put mine together 2-3 years ago. it costs $250 without the monitor and harddrive which i got before for $150 and $80(respectively). as you may have noticed, im still online and only have to format it every year or so due to stupid virus type things. the only things i keep on it are some programs and music, which can be put on cds. i used newegg.com and allstarshop.com

i was thinking about getting a mac with a superdrive and such for $999, but i eventually fixed my copmuter so i didnt need to.

if you're not familiar with your hardware, i would highly recommend cyberpowerpc.com. They have really good prices (almost OEM part prices) and they will build it and install OS if requested.

NCIX.com

Vancouver based company so if you live in Canada it's the way to go.

I just ordered all the parts seperately from a local shop and built it myself. Not really hard, if you find something that fits, that's where it plugs in (the majority of the time)

MAJOR ADVICE

If you plan on buying your shit online make sure its not bare or OEM(originol Manufactuers Equipment). If it comes OEM that means you only get whats in the picture, no cabes, warrenty, and most important, drivers. And if thosent say 'boxed' then it probably is OEM, OEM is the reason why online places sell hardware cheap. If your not very good with comps i suggest you spend that extra 25 or 30 buck and but it at your nearest comp store where you can return it if you cant figure it out. Good luck.

sagernotebook.com... customized laptops, for the most part, but my motherboard crapped out on me after two years and they wont replace it... so i dont know why im writing this, theyre assholes. theres always dell, dude.
