Building my pvc pipe rail help/suggestions

im getting this 8 inch pvc pipe for my backyard and i was wondering if i should just plop it down and put snow beside it so it doesn't roll and use that or if i should cut it in half and then put wood under it?? also cutting it and putting wood under it wouldn't be a problem cause my friend is a carpenter and has a ton of machines and stuff.

so should i just put it there or cut it in half?

whats easier to learn on? will it matter that its cut?

thanks NS.

what i think u should do is get a 4 x 4 the same length as the pvc and drill 4 small holes across the top of the pvc then drill 4 more holes though the 4 pre drilled ones then mount the pvc pipe onto the wood using decking screws and then it will be more stable. u still will need to use some snow though.

hope this helped

i'll give you my 8 inch pvc

here's what i did, i build my stand/frame thing however long i wanted then after i finished that i put a length of 2x4 inside the pvc tube and put screws going up through the frame, tube and piece of wood in the tube. it's a good idea to put about 3-4 screws between the supports holding down the tube. once the screw is tight it should sandwich everything together nicely.
