Build a rail

I was thinking about putting a rail in my backyard since I live on a hill, but don't want to buy one. I'm thinking about 3' PVC piping. Will this work, and what should I use for legs to support it. (and how should I attach them)

Ski. Eat. Sex. Sleep. Ski.

i used pvc pipe, 1.5 inch, double barrel, it works really good, costed 16$(can) for 24 feet and i used 4by 4s for the rest
