Bugatti Releases The Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse As World’s Fastest Convertible

images

I guess I'll be the first to say it...not a fan of the Veyron. The pure straightline speed would be exhilarating, but after your first few high speed passes, what's left? You just blew 2 million bucks on a car that you'll be afraid to drive most of the time. There are countless cars I'd take before a Veyron. With that being said, it's still pretty cool haha.

this.pure speed is only fun to an extent, id take a custom lamb or a ferrari for the same price any day.

or a McLaren F1, so much want

I hate the Veyron, imo it doesn't look good, is too heavy, to German, to slow (round a track.)

and it won't suddenly erupt into a flaming ball of fire like a real hypercar should.

And if you buy a Veyron they bring out a new version before you even receive your ordered one.

^^wow, that failed miserably. Anyway, the Veyron SS holds the fourth fastest lap time on the Top Gear track ever.

* Learn to copy & paste.*

Considering the price tag it is slow.

The SS is supposed to be the ultimate car according to VW.

The Lambo and Mclaren are both far cheaper, way more fun and faster round the track without having a 1200bhp engine.

It was a table from the BBC website. If you would like to correct my error, be my guest. If not, please continue beating off to the amount of money you pretend to have on the internet. K? K.

It really depends on what you want to do with the thing. The Bugatti is actually a drivable super car in that its comfortable and relatively quiet inside. If you are going to do anything other than carve canyons and take it to the track, it's pretty functional. Its the fastest car that is actually a street car, and not a race chassis modified for street use.

And no I'm not a complete idiot. I own a couple of the cars on the list and believe me, you don't want to drive an Ariel to and from work every day. I did that for a year with an Exige S and it was annoying as all hell. So if you absolutely must get to Carl's Jr. as fast as humanly fucking possible, Bugatti is your solution. Plus the one I drove had a cup holder. Crucial.

i'd drive a tricked out m3 over a bugatti anyday...considering it's 1/10 of the price and drives considerably close to the speed

/images/flash_video_placeholder.png

To illustrate the point....this is a very fast M3. But even if you had this, you would still be gay and Persian. (If you are gay and Persian, I fully endorse M3 ownership...do your thang). The Bugatti's 4WD would come in handy on your way to the mountain as well. Inb4 suggestion to jib said Bugatti.

The Veyron IMO is super ugly. Plus in all honesty I would be more affriad of driving it on public roads. I'd rather just buy something cheaper and sup it up perhaps a GT-R or even a mini

Thing has so much power. I wouldnt want one though what the hell would you do with a car like that

It's a ridiculous car and I won't ever own one, but It'd be so sick to have a quad turbo w16 engine. If I do ever get like half a billion I'll get one and hoon the shit out of it.

fuck that shit. i'll take this r35 gtr over that any day. and still kill it in any race.

/images/flash_video_placeholder.png

modded R35 is modded... ^ :/

and great.. a bunch of shitty uninformed opinions by a bunch of kids who for the majority have not driven anything that could even be considered a "sports car" (and no, your subaru or poverty-spec euro sedan don't count).

so? the point was that bugatti's aren't that great. for >$200k you can have a gtr that will beat most if not all other street legal cars. so why get a bugatti?

This. I mean if i had money out my ass i would buy one, buuuuuut i couldnt reallly justify it. Also there is few places in the world where you can really max out a veyron.

because quad turbo w16. And because that gtr will not be reliable. You'd have a luxury car that won't break, but can still go 400kph.

you think a quad turbo is more reliable than a twin turbo..? also, a balanced and blueprinted vr38 race engine with cnc race ported heads is probably more reliable than the stock bugatti engine. you'd have an oem looking gtr that is faster and quicker than any supercar on the planet.

its just sooo not about that to prospective bugatti buyers.

it's like comparing a timex to a rolex.. both will perform the task of telling the time, but one has infinite more panache.

you can 'mod' many cars to over 1000whp. are they going to be insanely fast? sure they willl.

that't not the point.

you don't get the prestige, craft, R+D, heritage etc that you get with a bugatti.

it's all about exclusivity and the fact that this luxury car is built to see these ludicrous speeds STOCK with absolutely no drama.

Many people who race their cars will most certainly not be looking at the veyron.

Your point is pretty invalid.

because it's a fucking Bugatti.

that's like say, "Why buy a Rolex? i could buy a Timex that does the exact same thing for 1/1000th the money!" hurpderp

your rolex to timex analogy is completely off-scale... it would have to be comparing a bugatti to a kia for it to be correct. someone above also mentioned the exclusivity. IIRC, there have been 3 alpha 12 gtr's built. exclusive enough for you? but anywho, since we have different opinions on the topic, the arguing will just continue

I am sorry...but GTR's are about as attractive looking as a steaming pile of cow shit. The interior stitching looks cheap, the exterior lines are confused and poorly designed, and it has the overall feel of a 350z that some punk jammed about 600 lbs of boost through. The seats are uncomfortable, the windows rattle (the one I drove had 15k miles on it) and it feels heavy. This is not to say it doesn't handle well, it just doesn't feel right to me. They are not enjoyable cars to drive, and although they are blindingly fast, that's about all they do well. Plus front engine sports cars just don't have that perfect tiny bit of overstear that makes rear/mid engine cars so much fun to drive.

I'm a 458 guy myself and would prefer to drive that around as opposed to a Bugatti.

IN ADDITION:

Nissan = bang lots of slightly overweight high school girls with self esteem problems.

Bugatti = bang who ever, when ever, and where ever you want..... Including on the hood of some other guys GTR, while he is too busy jizzing on your Bugatti's tires to notice that your fucking HIS chick on the hood of HIS car.

If you didn't notice, I don't like GTRs.

Carbon gas caps on subarus are dope though.
