so its that time of the year again! anyone on here going? if last year is anything to go by it's gonna be sick!

for those of you that don't know it's basically a huge ski/ snowboard competition at the dry slope in Edinburgh for all the universities in Britain, along with some crazy partying. some of the highlights from last year:

 
yeah the standard varies. you have people with very little experience competing against sponsored riders and guys landing double fronts and other such things
 
of the tricks that were thrown last year, that was an awful selection for the video. due to the size of the jump it is limited what you can do but (sw)/(cork) 9s are doable and so are (sw)rodeo/misty7s. Should be good this year though, fourth and final year for me though. hopefully they will listen when we push for a new set up for "slopestyle" as what they do currently is shit and the with the new piece of slope could improve it. Should be an epic party weekend nonetheless.
 
thought this thread was gonna be about pot.

that looks like a blast though. maybe someday ill make it across the ocean for it.
 
can you imagine that crash at 1:00 on the dendex diamonds of doom? fucking lucky he's on snowflex.and it's yet another thing that makes me wish i still lived in the uk

 
these guys r seriously throwing down some pretty decent tricks for wat it is!! also love how everyone still wears their baggiest ski pants and tall tees/hoodies even though its not all that necessary. skiing/snowboarding just wouldnt be the same in regular clothing haha
 
Looks like another good year. Need to see Jack land that double front one day, nice to see some solid flips from the girls, and some good half backflips from some of the lads - that's what happens when you put a bar at the top of the inrun!
 
absolutely incredible weekend. was anyone here staying in the massive mansion/ hostel outside of town by any chance?
 
OH MY. What a ridiculous weekend, so much partying - spent the last 2 days recovering. Probably the best weekend i have ever experienced.

Yeah we were there! That house party after the ball was crazy. The mansion was trashed! So much fun, and damn - those Irish girls...
 
holy shit i know right! were you in the games room at all? so much nakedness! we found a couple of axes outside and cut down a tree haha. the owner was such a lad though, literally didnt give a shit

Took one for the team. Sick weekend, didn't think it was quite as epic as last year though. Felt like each day at the slope it petered out a bit and the Ball was wank.
 
I can agree with tom that the slope didnt have the same atmosphere as years before. Having the redbull car dj on the other side of the slope from the kicker really wasnt doing anything for the crowd around it who are normally well up for some on hill partying. I didnt go to dinner but went after and as always the bar was wayyyyyyy to fucking expensive for a student event. The £18 bottle of wine shouldnt be the best choice for units/£
 
BIG DAVE! He really didn't seem to care that his country home was getting wrecked. We made the most vile funnel/beer bong for him (probably helped). It involved straight sprits, beer, cider and port. Absolute lad. I stumbled into the pool/games room several times - There was beer soaking into the table. Crazy!

Did you see those suits of armour broken?

For those that didn't stay at the mansion out of town - that place made my BUDS this year. So crazy - still recovering!
 
yeah we were dancing on the pool table for quite a while haha. one of my friends was gonna put the armour on but i dont think he did in the end. i think we were the first ones to try it though haha. im gonna be recovering for a good while yet haha.

i agree about the slope too. we just kinda sat around for a bit then went home after like 2 hours on the saturday, i wasnt really captivated the way i was last year. and yeah, the ball was pretty shit. we went to a restaurant in town before hand so we got a litre of wine for £6 and food for under a tenner which was definitely better than the meal at the ball. i only bought one drink there, £4.30 for a vodka lemonade is an absolute disgrace
 
I've been a little slow in finishing it off but I've made an edit of this year's SUDS and BUDS too! :D I guess it's true that it's hard to ever see a video as 'finished'

You edinburgh guys have been putting out some good wee edits. We need to step our game up at strath haha. Two shots of me going up the tow, and giving wee pete some props.
