Buck for my bone?

Hey dudes and dudets. My name is Casey, and I ski. Well, I can't at the moment anyway, because I recently took a gnarly crash in the terrain park and broke my collar bone in 6 pieces. I manage a skiing/snowboarding shop called Precision Mountainwear, and skiing is a passion of mine in the winters. The store I manage is seasonal, which makes for a perfect gig for skiing and working! Unfortunately, I don't make much money, and don't make money with my other hobby in the summers either.

I've come on to NewSchoolers because I know it's a community of the most radically fresh, happenin, synergistic community of like-minded shredders the internet has to offer, whom all have a devoted compassion to skiing, and the people who do. I wanted to post a thread explaining my current situation with my finances and my collar bone after my most recent ski accident. Without insurance, paying for the surgery I need to realign my collar bone in to place to allow me to ski without any further complications for the rest of my life is quite impossible with my current financial situation, and the cost of surgery.

I wanted to ask you..the fun, awesome community of skiers if you might share a bit of compassion in the form of a donation towards my surgery so I may be able to shred without pain! I'm young, but passionate. I wish to continue to be an active, outdoors individual for the rest of my life. Please help me continue my passion and love for skiing, and donate to my PayPal account. Anything would help. Thanks for taking your time to consider helping someone who could really use it.

Serious bummer man. I haven't broken a collar bone, but that looks gnarly. What's your PayPal account?

The collar bone is one of the best healing bones in your body. Unfortunately in my circumstance, I applied so much pressure to the collar bone it split like a piece of wood under pressure, snapping in a bunch of different pieces. Without surgery there would be a serious jagged section in my shoulder, making any rigorous activity pretty painful. That's why I'm resorting to asking for donations. Anything helps, and thanks for the concern. My e-mail/PayPal information is to cwayne20@gmail.com. Thanks again, and much love.

dude that sucks fucking dick.. but then again its why you get insured.

I'm gonna donate a bit once I can? how much is the surgery?

I broke mine once I didn't need surgery though.. I remember feeling a random bone hang in my body.. that must hurt like shit tho

Yea, it's off the chart with how much dick the sucks, in the worst way possible. Good way to describe it though, it does feel like there's this floating pressure in my arm that just isn't right. Deeeeamn....oh, and surgery would be at least 30+k

dude how the fuck do the people whoever manage this let this happen?

oh hes gonna have fucked up pain and probhably large scale loss of the arms use.. oh you didnt sign up for that?yea.. that'd be 30000 bucks

Yea man, our health care is pretty shitty to say the least...guess I could have moved to Canada before I messed myself up. Damn it USA, just damn it...

Holy fucking shit. I can't donate, I'm sorry :(

That is fucking expensive. Try to contact some pros. Not that they donate to you. Ask them if they got any tips how you could get surgery cheap. Maybe they know something and/or donate. I don't even know what I'm talking about but I hope you getting better soon!

Damn man. I haven't had health insurance in a while and shred hard and often. Shit is scary man, i often think about what would happen if is mashed my dome and its just terrifying. since being uninsured i have only been to the doctor once and it cost me and rm and a leg. And that was for a skin disease. I wish I could offer something more material than simple posting "vibes man" on an internet forum , but sadly that's all I can. I can totally relate to your situation though, and although I may not be in your situation, one day I may be. I know you will pull through this dude. People have survived much worse with much less, and you have a positive outlook and a great lifestyle. Best of luck brother, you got it, and I'll see if I can spread your PayPal around a little.

Thanks for the positive vibes guys. If you can't donate it's not a big deal, I didn't really think I'd end up getting donations anyway. But at this point with not many other options available, I figured I'd give it a shot. So thanks for at least checkin out a fellow skier who happened to get a shitty break. Take care and ski hard dudes.
