Bubble on base of ski/Repair help

Just bought a pair of 2014 Surface one life's. They came new in plastic. On of the skis, slightly forward of underfoot, there is a bubbled up section of base about two inches wide and 4 inches long. It does not touch the edge of the ski. The bubbled up area can be pressed down flat. Any ideas on how to fix it? Is it okay to ride as-is, or will it delam further? For repairs I was thinking of drilling a small hole into the raised up area then use a syringe to inject epoxy into the bubbled area, press it flat, then clamp it.

you could take it to a ski shop and they could sand the base and then ptex it. But like stated above you should post some pictures to give us a better idea of what we are talking about.

Clamp it tight for a few hours and see if that does anything. If it's just base material, you should be fine but if it's a defect in the ski itself then you're fucked.

Most likely, you'll never even notice it's there. It will bubble up / become more pronounced while waxing (the hot iron makes the bubble expand), but otherwise it shouldn't affect the performance of the ski.

You can try and poke a hole, inject epoxy and clamp the ever living crap out of it overnight, and if you're set on repairing it this is the way to go. Otherwise you're probably okay with leaving it alone. Pics would be cool though.

Take a sharp Stanley blade. Cut a line to one side or middle or the bubble. Heat up some epoxy so it's nice a liquidy. Use blade or something to lift base and throw in a heap of epoxy. Take a metal plate or something solid and flat (hard wood is fine). Clamp and wait to set.

If done right no more bubble. And you won't even see the cut.

That's awesome that they came straight from the factory like that. Great job on the QC

they are 2014s and were most likely not straight from the factory. Its possible something happened to them during their 2+ year stay in a where house.

yeah thats what I was thinking, are the durability on these any better than the surface park skis. I'd like these to last more than 5 days lol
