After skiing Outsiders I can't imagine going back to a ski with less rocker. Even demoing ARV98s in 171 size felt like there was too much camber, I just wanna be able to swivel on a dime. To hell with catching an edge, ever.

What skis out there have as much rocker as the Outsiders when you stand on them?

does anyone know the actual story behind those skis. surely they weren’t made to be like that this guy must’ve left them in compressed in a trash compactor for a year and then decided to ski them

All you had to do was zoom in and look at the name, muchacho

But yeah I’d look at a devastator or meridian if I were you. I know [tag=260860]@DesertStix[/tag] is selling some 187 meridians

Sold those awhile ago but definitely a sick ski

I don't want something with absolutely no camber

even outsiders have some rebound to them in turns

Basically i'm looking for a ski with roughly the same effective edge as outsiders

Just get ski blades then.

can anyone recommend me a ski that's very rockered, very stable, and good in bumps?

bet, wouldn't doubt it.

I don't like its lack of taper and square tails but otherwise it seems good.

would the billy goat be better if I want taper?

I’ve never been on the Billy goat. [tag=146707]@Session[/tag] or maybe [tag=5495]@RudyGarmisch[/tag] might know. I know TGR loves the BG.

BG is going to be super directional. J118 has tapered tips unlike the rest of the Jeffrey line.

It’s all about the mount point. If you want a ski to pivot easily you need to be close to center. For example I got some Jeffrey 110s this year and I had them mounted at recommended (-4.5 from center) and they just wanted to go straight. But I tried them at -2.5 and they pivot and play much more. Any rockered ski mounted center to -2ish will pivot really well.

Try it! Demo a centered ski like a Bentchetler and slide the demo track all the way back. It gets more solid and less surfy. Take a more traditional ski like a Mindbender and push the demo track all the way forward. It gets more squirrely and pivoty. Just about any ski does this.

I'm generally fine with directional, but I do wanna ski with a centered stance, because that's what I'm used to.

Would BG be bad for that?

BG skis well with a centered stance.

I'm well aware that moving a mount forward changes how a ski turns, my confusion was that you think a Jeffrey on the recommended line is hard to turn.

I was surprised too. It just didn’t work for me. Good in pow and soft snow. But on hardpack and in the park it felt like a 70m turn radius. The 2cm bump forward made all the difference. Now it makes large and small radius turns and feels like I would expect.
