is there something ironic about a red sox fan who made a thread about ny that no one cares about?
anyways Happy Birthday Brooklyn Bridge! You are the oldest suspension bridge in th US.
Not to get nostalgic or anything, but remember that time back in 1964 when you were designated a national historic landmark? That was pretty cool. And then that other time, in '94 when that guy from Lebanon shot those 4 people? Poor Ari Halberstam -- he was so young.
Then there was the crazy times in '03 with Lyman, that nut-job, he thought he could cut your suspension wires with blow-torches, i've always said those al-Qaeda bunch wern't the brightest bunch of terrorists.
And who could forget in 2006 when we found your dirty little secret. Ha, scared of the Russkies were you?
The times have been grand dear Bridge sir, so many of us have taken you for granted, driven straight over you not realizing how impossible i'd be to get across the east river without you. You really are super awesome.
