Broken Tibia

Well i got a spiral fracture on my tibia on Sunday, and the doctor said that it would take like 3 to 4 months to heal. Seemed extremely rediculous amount of time, just wondering if anyone has ever gotten a similar injury and how long it took them to heal?

Cause in 3 months snow will be gone and i'll be going crazy

thats about right i had a hair line fracture 2 years ago and was out for like 6 weeks

Are they putting a rod in? My mother had one put in her tibia and a bunch of crews in her ankle and the heal time was like 6 months. consider yourself lucky. Spiral fractures are nasty

I broke mine on Dec 4th and I still cant walk on it

I broke my tibia and fibia last year. I have a rod in my tibia now and the 5 screws they put in my leg is in a plastic cup on my desk.

I started walking (more like limping) at just under 2 months. The worst part is the swelling. Do your best to keep it elevated, cause its a bitch when the season rolls around and for some odd reason your boot feels a little tighter.

My niece got a spiral fracture on her leg and she was out for about 3 months so the doctor is probably right.
