Broke my tibia and fibula at wrestling practice on opening day. Any suggestions on boredom or similar stories?

broke my tib fib earLy season 4 years ago too. i got a rod and three screws stiLL in there now.

i fucking hit a snowboarder and the front of his board went straight into my Leg

2 novembers ago I broke my fibula and tibia rollerblading on my front lawn trying to learn 270 ons for the ski season, that sucked

Last season I broke my tibia and fibula again after I under rotated a front flip on the last run

Broke my fib at the end of Oct doing a big ol' backie off a wall at a trampoline park... Considering your tib is also broken you're in worse condition. Have your friends pick you up and go get food or something, chill, play videogames. Those are really the only things you can do it gets boring regardless man. Wait it out and listen to your doctor don't try and cut corners.

Yeah. Op, whatever you do, make sure you take rehab seriously. If you go to physical therapy and they give you exercises to do on your own at home, make sure you do them or it could lead to unnecessary long term problems.

Not directed at you, by the way, jibbinc. Sometimes things happen even if you do everything right during rehab, i know it did for me when i broke my tib/fib

I broke my tib last march got a rod put in her and rehab have been long....started skiing agin this season but its very sore and it will be a while till I'm skiing at a level I will be happy with....this bone take time and rehab...keep up on he rehab...my biggest problem is the calcium build up around the break. The lump is sore to ski on being right on the shin and when it gets really cold it's been hard to flex my boots properly. All the doctors and physio said to me is time and excercise and stretching

distal fibular fracture inside the ankle last april and was literally the worst thing ever. all i can say is rehab rehab rehab. i wasnt as serious with my rehab as i should have been and now my ankle hurts so bad when i ski that i clamp my ski boot almost to the point where i cant feel it anymore. but as for suggestions on how to stay sane: hang out with your friends. good people = good vibes. dont be a couch potato. you might not be as mobile but that shouldnt inhibit you from going out and doing things. BE SOCAIL! dont hide away for months trolling NS and playing COD.

snapped mine about ten years ago on the "last run" of the best powder day of my life... still have the rod and screws, because i wanted to jump at our summercamp that i was working at. still shreddin at over 40, and not too many problems... at least you will be able to feel the weather coming! good luck homey! stay strong minded, you will be back...

Same thing happened to me, more or less. Break happened right at the top of the shell of the boot. It's been 3 years for me and it still hurts after skiing bumps for a while or hitting jumps in the park, which I never did that often in the first place, but now rarely ever do. But besides that I can ski as well as I ever did, so you will get better, it just takes time.

well i tore my MCL and meniscus about a year ago.

My ankle got huge and purple for a week aswell.

had mensicus surgery they sewed it back on. left my MCL alone. grade 2/3 tear.

i notice my tib fib on that side is definitely twisted inwards more than the other.

This problem happens with both legs, but is worse on my torn knee.

strecthing has helped alot but it still snaps.

if i work out too hard, i get a painful stinging sensation on the inside of my knee that lasts for weeks. happens randomly.

i had a really similar break, although my bone shifted around a lot inside my leg, yours looks like it sorta stayed in place more. the surgeon reset the bone with his hands, so i didnt need surgery, but it was still in a cast (technically 2 different casts) for 14 weeks, i couldnt run full-out for about a year, even with all the physio i did

it was legitimately the shittiest period of my 20 year life to date

Last Thursday I went in and it shifted out of tolerance so they had to cut my cast, pry it open with some pliers and stuck a wedge in there and hopefully it won't shift again because after that wedge it hurt more than when it happened. I hope I'll be able to play football next year, if I can't I don't know what I'll do.

hahah yeah I had a wedge too! in my second cast though, and it was after 8 weeks. it hurt soooo fucking much when they put it in because the bone had already fused a lot, but at a weird angle. ugh fuck i actually forgot all about that until you told me but it was wicked painful having them correct it. they didnt give me any drugs either, so it killed. the night i broke it they gave me demerol so when the surgeon was shifting my bones around with his hands I sorta giggled cuz of how weird it felt. the wedge was a different story. i know how it feels man
