My skis are broken :'(

What can i do?

Ive emailed armada and they wont even reply to say no. I tried calling them but there out for like 2 weeks. My skis are pretty fucked up and i dont think i can even ride them. I cut off the pulled edge but there still a little snag left that i cant seem to be able to bend or cut. It still sticks down maybe 1/4 in..

Im cant realy drop the money for new skis now so does anybody know how to fix this? Or any hookups? Or how to get cheap skis or ANNNYYTHHIIINNG?

Pleeeeeaasse heeellppppp

and yea.... wrong forum. thought more people read this one

they're toast

I would recommend getting a cheap used pair from b/s/t for the rest of the season and wait for the summer deals to roll around

Right now is the middle of crazy trade show/ x games/olympics season. Armada is not a huge company, they're all pretty darn busy at the moment, and I'd bet that the e-mails are piling up like crazy in their neck of the woods. They'll see it eventually, but right now you've got to understand where their priorities lie.

that being said.... the damage you've posted up is pretty darn severe- it's well beyond the point of a defect that would be covered by any ski manufacturer's warranty. It definitely looks like you jammed the tip there right into a box or a rock or a wall or something at high speed. Armada will probably look at that, tell you it's unfortunate, but you'll be SOL in regards to warrantying that. the fact that you've got several things going on at once- snapped tip, ripped out edge, and a core shot (that definitely wouldn't be covered, that's just what happens when you ski) says that you've probably ridden on these things post initial damage, and then caused more damage to them.

i wouldn't take these into a shop to try and get fixed. The repair wouldn't hold because you've got structural damage- that tip is snapped. you'll end up spending a fair chunk of change and you'll still be stuck with a busted ski.

look at the B/S/T threads on here, check your craigslist, you'll be able to find a used pair of sticks that you can just transfer your bindings to.

best of luck

yea it was mostly regular wear. the tail was getting realy weak from just regular wrecks and flexing and when it finaly snapped everything blew up off that

ya you could probably get that warrantied but it could take a while... In the mean time I'm sure you can find something in BST, I found my friend a pair of mint bluehouse antics a while ago for only $120. No idea what size skis you need but I just saw these https://www.newschoolers.com/ns/forums/readthread/thread_id/773423/

I was going to go all ski doctor on you and tell you how to fix those. But your ski is fucking snapped. Nothing you can do. The rest is actually fixable. Ive seen an edge gone the entire length of the ski and fixed. The tail could be fixed woth a pencil torch, tee nuts, and machine screws. Core shot with base material, p tex and edge weld. But your ski is snapped. No way in hell thats able to he fixed

Is this you?

It's doubtfull but who knows. Don't contact armada though. Go through the shop you got them from and let them contact armada. You will need a receipt which shows they were purchased less then a year ago. But honestly it's unlickly but contact your shop.

get a fuck load of epoxy at like home depot and just clamp it all together let that dry.. should last you till the end of the season unless you really push it. it won't look pretty but at least they won't fall apart after that get yourself a pair of ar7s. if you can't afford it get a used psi of ebay.. its the same shit

I'm seeing a fixable ski. Won't be a hard pack ripper, but would work as a rock ski/park ski. You need...flexible epoxy, edge screws (their tiny), ptex (actual sheets for a base weld), rivets and a rivet gun for the delam tip, and as for the broken tip, looks like it didn't break the core, so actually doesn't matter at all. first step, drill holes in the delam, and rivet that bitch. Second step, clean out where the edge peel is, bend the edge back into place, epoxy in place, pre-drill and drop in some edge screws. drip ptex over the srew heads. As for the core shot, who gives a shit if its a rock ski, but if your determined, cut around the scrape in a clean fashion, take a piece of paper, and get a rubbing of the shape with pencil. Cut the shape out of your sheet ptex, epoxy it in place. FYI the base weld will rip out in the park. That said, learn how to fix your shit, it'll be useful in the future even if you botch the repairs this time round

I destroyed my old arvs from hitting rails all day, created a grand canyon right along the armada dicut on the bases. Edges had cracks and were rounded, obvious rail damage. They sent me a brand new pair, no questions asked. Armada rocks!

Use a grinder an a hammer to take off the edges and a knife to cut the part of the base that's running away and use them for urbans or early season jib.
