Broken Shimano xt shifter cover (mtb)

I went over the bars and broke the part of my shifter(Shimano xt dyna-sys 11) that says what gear I am in. It broke off which is fine because I don’t really need it, but now the inside of the shifter is visible and open to the elements. Can I buy a replacement cover, and if not what is the best way to stop dirt and water getting in?

Have you been able to check with your bike shop yet? Some shops are good about having a lot of random parts around to hook ya up. At a minimum they can order whatever you need for ya ensuring you'll get what you need.
