Whats up NS. So I had the bad luck of busting my patella in half hitting a rail this season. I had surgery and two screws were put in to pull everything together. Is there anybody else that has had this type of injury? Also, are you limited in other sports like biking, or skateboarding?
 
Happened to my friend, he was able to ride but he went out too early, re-broke it. Now he's done for good i'm pretty sure. gotta let that shit heal
 
I broke my left knee cap twice in two years. It's rough man, I have two screws in it for life now. But the doctor told me now that it's healed the left one is stronger than the right with the screws in.

My biggest advice for you is to do all of the exercises religiously. That's definitely something I wish I'd done. I was 13/14 the two times I broke it. I'm now 23 and my left leg is still skinnier than my right.

But you'll get through it, no worries. I was able to go back to doing all the sports I wanted. Just don't slack on the physical therapy.
 
Here's my kneecap. I broke it in Nov. 08. The screw is from an ACL surgery. I don't have a picture of after surgery but they wrapped it with metal wire and put two pins in it to hold it. They took that out 9 months later. It was really rough. Sleep with a pillow between your legs if you lie on your side because otherwise it really hurts. Once you are able to move it again do so religiously. Physical therapy is the best thing you can do.

I can ski again, but I have to wear a brace because my ACL, PCL and MCL were stretched from the break. If your ligaments are fine you should make a full recovery. I have arthritis already though so be wary of that.

this is me after just breaking a kneecap so its graphic-ish but it was so much fun

i went to all my PT and i can do everything normally, i just try not to bash it off anything cause it's a little more sensitive to pain now.

with any knee injury, i can't emphasize enough to go to all the physical therapy sessions, such a vital joint for all the fun sports.

you probably won't be doing anything fun for 9 months or so, but next year you should basically be 100%. good luck sir!
 
Knocked my knee cap out of place last year i feel your pain man wake boarding kinda hurts but i still do it no more knee boarding

Fuck. I can't even watch scarred.

Def listen to the docs and take you time coming back. Don't want to rush shit and fuck yourself in the long run. Make sure you do your time in pt. Hopefully things will get back to close to 100% for ya.

haha i appreciate you! it never hurt at all, i was in shock all the way to the hospital and once there, instantly on pain stuff/ novocaine whatever it is
 
Your so lucky. I'm sitting in the hospital right now with 15 screws in my ankle after overshooting a quarter pipe. Same injury as tanner hall on chads, except on one ankle and less severe. Getting the boots off was the worst experience of my life
 
oh man i can't imagine the pain in that, i've never had a painful injury like what you're in right now. shit son hopefully it heals up fast!
 
About three weeks ago I fractured my knee cap, so luckily it isn't broken... It hurts insanely bad though to the touch, and under any strain it feels really funky... Clearly not anywhere near the level you're on though obviously... Can't even imagine. I don't really care about the pain though it just sucks because my last season of distance track is getting sucked away and I just want to run. So I suppose that's what I'm missing out on
 
I hit a tree last season and broke mine and it wasent THAT bad bit then I broke it again and things got nasty. Swelled up about the size of a grapefruit and turned many diffrent colors. They might just remove one of the broken peices to try and fix it
