Broken face skiing

this past week i was tryin a lincoln off a small cliff, and i came around to my feet and when i landed my skis didnt sink and my knee hit my face...i dont remember it at all because i got knocked out for a couple minutes, but my buddy told me how it happened. but i ended smashing a bone in my face into my sinus, and i was wondering how often this happens to people on here? or if you know anybody who it has happened to. people keep asking me if i was wearing a helmet, but it wouldn't have helped in this situation. is this very common?

super common to knee yourself in the face. I never heard of anyone breaking theres though lol. It was part of your nose i guess?

My roommate broke his eye socket in two places and messed up something in his sinus last year. Smashed his face on some hard snow on a super gnarly crash. He was wearing a helmet. Still got knocked out real bad and had no memory of the whole day.

yup i did it

3 days later blew my nose and face blew up...went to clinic, went to CT scan, went to eye doctor, went to eyes-ears-nose-throat doc, had surgery a few hours later to repair my orbital...if you havent got checked out yet you should...doctor told me if i waited any longer my eye would have sunk back in my head and i would be cross-eyed

when i had surgery i was able to ski a week later.....had to do nothing for a week, no lifting or anything, just couch and tv and pain meds

great week then back on the hill!

+vibes man. ive actually smashed myself in the face quite a few times, but ive never broken anything.

just last week i overshot a 35 footer to flat, smashing my lip into my braces with my knee. spat blood for a few minutes.

my cousin did the same thing out in tahoe except he kept tumbling down the mtn on his face after it happend...shit hurt

haha it was way powdery and i had already done it several times so i thought it would be fine. and i broke my maxillary bones, which i guess arent the orbital which is good. to the guy above who busted his orbital, that sounds extreme. i guess its more common than i thought.

not hard at all dude. i know it sounds ironic since i just busted my face doin one, but if you just go for it youll be fine. mine was somewhat of a freak accident and just unlucky, or at least i think it was. you dont even need a big one, you got it bro!

squaw's miles clark just did that to himself at alta with a frontie... now he looks like a zombie in a fullface.
