Broke Screen on Phone Urban Skiing

So after getting ice cream with some of my buddies we were walking to our car and i ran up to a bench and did a "lip slide" to 450 out and my phone flew out of my pocket and shattered.

Attempting to have fun and i guess you could say impress my non skiier friends, I look like an idiot and shattered my phone.

Do you have any similar instannces? Any good stories.
 
today at work, i served some kids some ice cream. one of the idiots jumps on this bench and does this stupid twirl thing, and breaks his phone

what a loser
 
i was closing my window today and my fingers slipped off the little lid piece you push down on and hit the platform the ledge that extends off the wall and hit it hurt like a motherfucker.
 
We're at a bar, some smoking hot chick walks in. I'm feeling like a big man so I decide to go up to her to impress my friends. Long story short I plow her like 20 acres of fertile land and finish by planting my seed all over her. Well now I have dick rot from a horrible case gonorrhea. All because I tried to impress my friends
 
No but today I was trying to safely bring down a 15' ladder and I instead caught my leg in the rungs and rolled down a hill in my underwear.
 
Was out with friends drinking one night, came back to my room and plugged in my phone and put it down and knocked out. Woke up the next morning, started checking Instagram and noticed it was wet. Still out of it, I wiped my phone off and moved on to NS, noticed it smelled funny, looked up and saw I put it in a cup with Jack Daniels in it. Whole phone short circuited, melted the charging cord, and I took it to the mall and some kiosk fixed it for $25

The only way to save your phone is to make a deal with Azazel. He'll let your phone live but in exchange he wants your first born son
 
Never have broken a cell phone ever...gone all of my contracts (on my 4th...2years each) and the phone has lasted the whole time.

I always see people breaking screens and shit, just treating them like they are cheap.

OP's situation is just bad luck, but i see multiple people who break every phone they have

 
this past summer i left my moto droid beside a window. the window was only open by a crack, but it was absolutely pouring that night and the phone got wet. that was the end of my first smartphone
 
i was sitting down and i pulled my phone outta my pocket and it fuckin fell like 2 fuckin feet and the whole screen just shattereed it was bullshit and i had just bought like a 40$ case the week before. so i blew money on a new phone and case, im rockin the otterbox case meow. its dank
 
i was getting ice cream with some friends and one of them who thinks hes good at skiing but totally blows decides to try and do some gay ski trick and his phone flew out of his pocket and broke! haha, the ice cream guy just looked at him with shame.
 
I have the otter box but I'm just lounging around the house today. Rocking the naked phone. Living on the edge.
 
I had this phone that I was constantly pocket dialing people on, I pocket dialed my parents a few times and they got pissed because they heard what we were talking about or doing, so one night I was up camping, one of my friends came up asked to see my phone and then threw it out a couple yards and shot it.
 
Last Christmas I got my first iPhone 5 and the next weekend me and some buddies went skiing up at moonlight basin. I usually keep my phone in the front pocket of my saga jacket and anybody who has one of those jackets know that it is pretty small.

So we are ripping down a groomer towards the chair and my buddy Ed yells behind me that something fell out of my jacket. I thought nothing of it and we all got on the lift. I had a bag of trail mix on me that day too that I was snacking on so I thought that was it. Found out quickly that both my trail mix and phone had fallen out. So I went back on the groomer and didn't find it so I went around to all the lifts to see if anyone had turned it in. It hadn't so we left.

Two days later they called my mom and said it had been found but was kinda beaten up. I went up the next day to get it and the whole front screen had been spiderweb cracked and the bottom home button was completely torn off because it had gotten run over by a groomer cat. However, when I hit the home button it turned on and still worked perfectly fine and had 72% battery left even after being chewed up and being under the snow for two days. I was amazed.

Probably the best part of the story though was when we were leaving the day I lost it, sitting on one of the ski racks on the way to the parking lot was my damn bag of trail mix.
 
A couple weeks ago i was getting a lift home and my phone was in my lap. I got out of the car, it fell and the screen shattered. Not fun
 
My phone has cracked twice because I fell on it when it was in my pocket while I was skiing. One of the times it had a lifeproof on it too. Those god damn liers at lifeproof...
 
If you want a good drop proof case go otter box. if you want a good waterproof case, go lifeproof. They are flimsy and only protect from water. I have had both on my galaxy and summer time I rock the otterbox, but this winter i'm giving the lifeproof a go for snow and shit. Would never trust a lifeproof to protect from drops. but otterbox on the other hand. These are the best. Dropped my GS3 multiple times with a commuter case and not even a scratch. Also otterbox has the best warranty system. Sent picture and got a new case in less than 3 days. And that was over the week-end!

And the only time I saw a screen shatter was when my friend got out of the car too fast and forgot her brand new iphone5 was on her laps.. there goes the screen! And before seeing the screen, we knew it was gonna look bad, it was that "OH no, that didn't sound right!"
