Brighton Log Rails?

bump for curiosity but honesty this is my first season at brighton why is there park so terrible , lips onto features is like a foreign concept to the park crew, either that or they pull out the fun rails/boxes and put up stupid. And the jumps are a joke take a lesson from PC not impressed so far.. blaaaah

They put lips onto the features that actually necessitate lips. There isn't a single feature that isn't doable on skis. In fact, I was quite surprised at how well the lips were built/maintained yesterday. As for the jumps, don't even bring PC into the same sentence as Brighton. PC has more money, more space, a FAR superior crew, more of a rep to uphold and most importantly GOOD CAT DRIVERS.

That all being said, its been like, what, 10 days since it last snowed? Why the fuck isn't every rail feature up. And why is the pipe always such a piece of shit? They spent the money on a new cutter this season and I've seen the pipe cut once, maybe twice? Come the fuck on. That pipe has to be an insurance liability.

Yo I'm gonna be up at Brighton night skiing tonight, I'll be ridin solo so anyone that wouldnt mind me taggin along, get at me. I'll be in the red Oakley medic onepiece, white helmet, blue-framed smith goggles. Ridin on SPK's and Line chronics. I prefer not to ride solo, sooooooo, let me know.. Paul 419-889-0492 and I'll have my phone hooked up to my helmet so feel free to call

there is a fallen tree rail off of the great western lift, i forget which run exactly, aspen something maybe? you can see it from the chair on your left side.

ya the left wall on that pipe is dangerous, and its pathetic how fast you have to go to clear such a small jump. However, they have actually stepped it up overall compared to last year.

You know what the crazy part about that is? Like 2 weeks ago the left wall was awesome and the right wall was death. I always thought that one of the walls was going to be shitty just because of the sunlight, but I guess not. They really should put the pipe back behind Majestic where it used to be, it was so much better from what I remember.

On their new blog update it says they have not gotten the pipe cutter yet, it is on its way. it was supposed to get here a couple days ago but still nothing.

Brighton is considerably better now than it was 2 weeks ago. They added a bigger jump line up top and a pretty fun kicker after the milly rails. There are a few boxes with good lips in Candyland now too. I used to hate Brighton's lipless rails but after a lot of practice I now really really like them, the small ones in the beginning of candyland are perfect for practicing sw ups and so on and the milly tubes are almost all sick as fuck. Cept for the up down, they should put a lip on that.

If any NSers are ever there and see myself or my friends (Blue pinstripe Sunice suit and sometimes a purple hoody, my friends generally wear brown and yellow) give us a shout. We're there about 3-5 times a week. Brighton is light on park skiers and it's always fun to have some to cruise with.

Dude, what the hell are you talking about? Milly doesn't have any rails....I think you're confusing Milly and Majestic????

Milly (Millicent) is across the parking lot and doesn't have any park features.

just thought i would update...

both parks that were open were absolutely terrible.

i guess it could have been fun if everything was perfectly setup but it was VERY far from it.

Really? I was up there all day today and I thought it was incredibly fun. The jumps no longer have speed issues and they're fairly lofty. Candyland is 100 times better than it used to be and the milly tubes are soooo perfect for sw ups and 27s out. And that little jump they built at the bottom right before the wall ride was retardly fun for some wierd reason. I guess Brighton would seem shoddy if you were comparing it to PC but I'd rather ski in Brighton's chill atmosphere rather than PC's "I'm better than you" scene any day of the week.

the main issue was that everything was maintained terribly. everything was rutted and seemed like it wasn't even looked at since the morning(if that).

it would have been a lot more fun if they has some park crew people around to make sure everything stayed hittable.

can't speak too much for the jumps because the one that you were talking about that was in front of the wall ride was closed all night (although it looked pretty decent) and i didn't really hit the little jumps in candyland.

i pretty much just took cruiser runs until they closed early (something about SLC shutting the energy off). so i get to go up again another night fo free and hopefully it will be better.
