Brett farve got offered 30 to 35 million dollars. green bay gave him a chance to come back by leeting him go to a camp and he had it all set up plane ticket and everything he did not show. Green bay does not want him to go to another team so they are trying everything they can to keep him from going to a different team even offering hime 30 to 35 mil to retire. I think he is milking this. But then again he says he just want to play and continue his legacy and have nothing to do with money. Im not sure if he is milking it for the money cause he has so much already and he doesnt seem like the guy that would do that so we will see what happens in this next month or two. WHAT ARE YOUR GUYS'S THOGUHTS??????????????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
the guy just wants to play football, its not about the money to him, he just wants to play the game he loves. the packers wont let him do that so i dont blame him for refusing the deal
 
wrong thread for sure...But i will say this about the situation...he has basically ruined his reputation. Sure he wants to play but he should not have turn this coming back to play into a huge ordeal. He should have just gone out with the season that he had last year. Stop making this a big deal and move on. He is making it worse!
 
I don't think he cares about the attention, the money, or his "legacy". He just likes playing football.
 
i think brett should just go out on top. it's unlikely he'll have as good as a season as last year. if he comes back he may just be that old guy that shouldn't be playing football anymore. plus 30 mil to sit at home is a pretty sweet deal.
 
Favre is one of those guys that just wants to play the game. He just wants to play the gosh darn game no matter where he is. Our skiing is his football. He wants to do that shit for life and will do it as long as he can.
 
Considering Jackson can't get it done I would love it if he came here to MN. I mean I'm a Vikings fan but Favre is by far my favorite player to watch. He would play for $5. He doesn't care about the money. The dude is a farmer in the off-season. It's simply the love of the game. He may be getting old but he can still play... he can throw a football almost 70mph... thats like a pitcher throwing a baseball like 105. He may make some stupid plays here and there but when questioned about it, he said something along the lines of 'it could have been amazing.' I'm sure he wants the drama to be over more than anybody.
 
haha i would be a happy man if he came to play for MN(thats our obbreviation btw, not minn), since we play green bay for the opener at Lambo so that would be way funny for a purple number for to start against his home team on the opener

but anyway

he is going to play for the Packers as a backup, sad to see him not start, even as a viking fan
 
Dont get me wrong, i am a die hard packers fan and long time favre fan, but this is just getting ridiculous. He retired, he should stay retired. Packer fans have done nothing short of making him a god and now he is killing his reputation. STAY RETIRED BRETT.
 
care to explain Favres '07 season then? im pretty sure he can still perform at a level that most NFL QB's cannot.
 
He shouldnt have retired at the end of last season then called it off that is so lame, and if he plays for any other team i will lose all respect for him
 
he wants to play for the packers, but they just want him to stay retired cause they just gave his backup a shit ton of money to be the new starter. brett is still pissed about not gettin a ring last year so he wants to come back for only like 3 seasons tops to see if he can get it again. If he signs to the packers he'll prbly just sit on the bench and the NFL does not want that and brett dosent want that. They have gotten a ton of emails and letters about how ppl all over the country want brett to play. So since green bay wont let him play he said well "how bout i play against you then". The packers wanted to trade him to some team down south or out east so he wouldnt be in the same confrence, but there is a clause in his contract that lets him turn down any trade offers if he so chooses. He wants to stay in this confrence for a few reasons, he doesent wanna go that far, he wants to play the packers and if he plays for the vikes hell play them twice this season and the first game of the season is MN at green bay, also he likes the vikings lineup, with adrian peterson, and thinks that they will be one of his best bets for a superbowl.

same, i've actually started to hate him.

he RETIRED. he said that his football career was over. he cried. then, when rumors came up that he wanted to return, he denied them. finally, he goes "oh yea, i want to come back".. than he can come back as a fucking backup. be a mentor, you selfish bastard. but he thinks he's too good for that shit, so he whines and cries about the packers and how they arent being fair.
