Ok guys. So to keep this short, I'm trying to get on top of peak 8 for the sunrise sometime soon. My plan is to scoot up to the ski patrol shack on the top of horseshoe for the night, and then shoot up to the top in the morning. I know the mudroom of the shack is as least open, so thats all fine and well...

The hardest part of all of this is, where the hell do I leave my car? There is crazy construction staging at the peak 9 area where you drive up the dirt road, and that leads far away from peak 8.

Anyone know what the gondola lot is like for summer time overnight parking? would they let me ride up the gondola with an obvious overnight pack?

Thinking about having a buddy just drop me off for me to find my way home in the morning...

just spit balling here, hoping maybe someone has a good idea. go.

uhh..... its a pretty chill hike. Just do it from the base and start at like 3:30 or 4. park at the Peaks Trail Head. its at the base of peak 7, couple hundred feet from where you would start on peak 8.

also fun fact you can fucking drive up peak 9 and 10. starts from beaver runs parking lot. its not too terrible, my VW golf made it to the top of peak 9's chairs (although sketchy af) . after that it gets a little dicey. i imagine the view from 10 being radder than 8

We have a list of spots that we want to see it from. Quandary is on the list as well, but anyone can drive up ten, hiking is way more satisfying. Think of it as earning your turns or a cool and free way to spend a night somewhere beautiful. Anyway it was pretty cool.
