Break width: how much clearance is necessary? what's too much on a park ski?

I've got a 83mm waist park ski, and I'm thinking about some Look Pivot 14's. (I'm 6' 4", 185lbs.)
But they come in 80mm (narrow), 95mm (wide) and 115mm (XXL).
Which break width should I buy?
Perhaps I can bend the 80's, but when this ski dies and I buy my next ski, it probably will be no thinner than 83mm (which is thin for park).
Is a 95mm break going to get caught up landing switch? What do I have to be on the look out for?
This is a park only setup. No all mountain concerns, etc.
Alternatively, I can go for a binding that comes in a 90mm, such as a STH 12 Driver or Head Mojo 12. Advice welcome and +Karma for any help!!

get 80mm and bend them. 95 WILL BEND and be a pain in the butt.

Get the 80's and take a heat gun to them. But then bend them!! PM if you want some more info. I bend all my breaks!

But having them bend on the mountian is a pain in the ass.

Couldn't I bend the 95mm brakes in closer with a heat gun too? Or is there a good reason to widen brakes and not make them narrower through bending? I could conceivably bend the 115mm breaks in too, no?
Thoughts?

yea do the 80mm as posted before. i have mojo 12's on my anthems and its an 88mm brake on a 93mm waist and mine bent decent. only thing is somethimes when my skis ice up the brakes dont go down wen i eject.....otherwise no problems and have never bent a brake funny.

I don't think there's any cost issue, but I agree that these matters trump $50.
That said, I'm going to need to bend the 80's to fit the 83mm waist (or more like 85mm, since the ski has side cut and the heal is not over the center) and so my new question is: why not just bend the 95mm?

yeah but a pivot 14 narrow (80mm) would have trouble fitting a 93mm I'm guessing. If I could bend the 95mm so there's no chance of catching, then I could bend them back if I ever got, e.g., some anthems.

i mean the things are 25 bucks on untracked.com if you end up gettin new skis in more than one full season its worth it just to buy a new larger break for the wider waist ski. just my 2cents.

Ah, you're talking about getting extra brakes? I don't think the Pivot's have swappable breaks. On untracked.com http://www.untracked.com/c82-ski_bindings_brakes.html
there are only PX and Axial breaks, no Pivot breaks. The break does come out, but I've never seen anywhere the option to buy a break on its own for the Pivot. Perhaps someone knows better than I and knows whether I can buy separate breaks that are compatible with the Pivots?

Nope. Pivots are fucked. You can replace the breaks, Gator has a great guide for that, but its nothing I would recommend, plus you usually have to go through Rossi or have a shop special order them for you.

I'd still go for 80's and just bend them when you move up to wider skis, or hope that by that time Rossi is selling them individually online. Bendings a bitch, but everyone did it before they came out with wide breaks for pivots...

80mm brake on a 83mm ski is not that big of a deal to bend. I bent 80mm brake PX12's to my 93mm underfoot Rossis quite easily, but i did have to shave off the plastic on the brake arms. Go 80mm for sure, it won't be much of a bend, if any, at all.
