Boycott Warren Miller Entertainment

Not sure if I'm the only one not attending a crappy ass WME film as long as I live! Shout out if I'm not alone!

WME lost what was left of its reputation last year when they filed Level 1 for using Warren Miller in Refresh.

But I doubt anyone on this board is still clueless about this. :D

What ever came of that anyway, never made it to court??? he's in another movie this year isn't he?? I also heard a little something about a huge interview in the next ski journal mag.

Flame Warren Miller as much as you want but he's diehard, laid the foundations for making ski movies, was an innovator and his voice is awesome!

What's he done you hate him so much?

He didn't say hate warren miller, he said boycott warren miller entertainment and theres a big difference there. Warren miller=god

there's a difference between Warren Miller and Warren Miller Entertainment.Funnily enough, he is no longer associated with Warren Miller Entertainment, hence the hate for it and the love for Warren the man himself.

Here you go:

For so many of you who may not already know, I would like to clarify

that I am not, nor have I been involved with Warren Miller Entertainment

(WME) or their ski movies for quite some time now. When I sold the

company to my son in 1988, I was excited about staying involved and

helping carry the company forward. However, the company has twice since

been sold, and it has been six years since I have had anything

whatsoever to do with the films bearing my name.

The lawsuit that WME has filed against Josh Berman and Level 1

Productions is something that never should have happened. WME has no

valid claim for Trademark Infringement, and that is why they are

attempting to delay the action with Level 1 and go to arbitration with

me. The judge will rule on the stay of action sometime this week. For

Josh and Level 1, a stay of action only means that WME gets to put off

their lawsuit, until the arbitration between them and me is finished.

That is unacceptable as it leaves Josh and Level 1 hanging in the wind.

I stopped working with WME because our ideas on what the ski films

should be weren’t on the same page, and they demonstrated that they

didn’t want my involvement in making ski films any longer. WME’s

statement that they “would like nothing better than to have Mr. Miller

be a continuing part of WME,” but cannot because they are “a small

company with limited resources and we are not in a position to meet the

financial conditions Mr. Miller requires” is really absurd.

I have never made ski films solely for the money. I have always done

what I do out of my love for skiing, passion for people, and the freedom

that I find while on the mountain. I sat down and did an interview with

Josh, a friend whose entire company, Level 1 Productions, generated

less than $100,000 in revenue in 2008. While on the other hand, WME is

the largest company of its kind in the world and is part of a

multi-million dollar corporation, which is owned by a larger global

conglomerate that posted more than a billion dollars in revenue in 2008.

I am really flattered by how much support so many people have shown

not only to me, but also to Josh and Level 1 Productions. Thank you for

reading this. Let’s all look forward to bluebird days and untracked

powder snow!

Warren Miller is AWESOME! The man is a legend and I haven't missed a film since 1988, until this year...Wintervention will be missed and so will WME's future films...unfortunately I saw last year's film! The only good parts about it were the extra scenes they used from Everyday Is A Saturday. The other sad part is the crowd went crazy when these parts were shown. Durtschi's backflip off the dead tree, hoops and hollers all around...the people were clueless! I know they bought the material but it's only to make them keep there crowds. Pretty sad!

Just disappointed in Max Bervy and WME! But you lost a fan...I'll be supporting PBP, MSP, TGR, LEVEL 1, FIELD, AESTIVATION, TSP(Toy Soldier Productions), RAGE, and anyone else who's doing it for the LOVE OF THE SPORT!

Keep pumping 'em out Josh Berman and the Level 1 Crew. I'll keep supporting!

I also won't be attending. It is funny how many kids don't know anything about the whole WME drama that went down last year with level 1.

Not really, I think this is a necessary REFRESH to make sure fools don't forget and spread the word to friends, family, and on social media sites that WME are scum and there are WAY better premieres to attend.

I watch old warren miller movies, im talkin late 60's through mid-90's on the ski channel and ski channel on demand all the time. Its awesome to see people in the 60's throwing fronts and 1's and landing backward...haha. And you thought people couldn't ski backwards till twins

Jesus, you're an idiot. Same with TijmenDal. No one is hating on Warren Miller, all your post did is confirm you've paid attention to skiing for less than a year. Get learned, for WME is not something you want to support.

this. WME basically took over the warren miller name. Instead of WME being a die-hard crew of skiers, they are some greedy assholes.

Cheers bro. Just out of ignorance I'm a loser... Just because I'm not on here 24/7 and read all the updates I'm an idiot...that's not quite how it works you see.

I can't be bothered to explain right now, but if you really want me to just reply you do wanna know and then I'll explain later on...

Why the fuck is everyone trying to be an e-thug...

Pretty sure im not the only one who watched warren miller movies on saturday nights with pizza and a drink after a long day of skiing :)

correct....it really is an amazing story as Warren tells it like it is.

This issue, #4.2, ships next week and its a good one.

pretty sure everyone knew that it wasnt just one thread you could have missed there was multiple threads/facebook pages and so on it was huge

Sorry, that came off a little harsh. But read the post. No one is hating on Warren Miller, everyone knows that most of the ski production companies we see today wouldn't be here without him. But WME is not connected to him in any way and have tried to sue a company that does so much for our sport, so I really don't see why so many people have no idea about the whole issue and/or don't care about refusing to support a company that hasn't done anything for them.

That's more like it!

I gotta say I feel pretty dumb for not knowing this, but I'm glad I now do!

Them WME-guys are cheeky bastards!

Respect for (sort of) apolagizing and showing you're a nice guy, +K!

Warren Miller violated his contract. And the company whos contract he violated first asked level 1 to either stop showing movies or cut the name out, then decided to drop that and focus on the man who actually screwed them a little bit.

if this were before 1999 when his clause expired, your point would be valid. however, it is not, therefor you look like an idiot, and for lack of better word, a complete douche. good day fuckwad- I hope a bird shits on your head today.
