Boycott virtika

2014 David Lesh makes a video of himself shooting guns out of moving cars, pouring milk on girl’s bare titties, and doing drugs and NS thought it was sick. 2019 David Lesh rips his snowmobile during the summer and NS loses their fucking minds. When did all these pussies join NS?

I joined ns in 2005.

When did trashing wilderness areas and disrespecting our environment and mountains become cool?

Ah yes shooting guns and partying is equivalent to destroying the environment.

From what I remember that 2014 edit wasn't really that hype on here either. Or maybe it was the second one. Either way lots of people were already convinced that he was a shithead back then.

Been avoiding the brand basically since the beginning though so obviously I was never their target audience.

I don’t think the company will be affected after Last This and Next Friday because those didn’t seem to affect the company much. When you’re wearing pants or something on hill you’re not concerned about what the people do who make them you’re concerned if they will keep you dry and warm or not

Yet to own one piece of virtika gear, ive been boycotting since day one

This is what sucks. Up until this latest bullshit I dug that Lesh was a balls-out fuckhead contrarian. I like that shit. And to be fair, their shit on sale is a really good deal. But at this point, don't fuck up the outdoors man, especially in my backyard. I was raised in Colorado, and we don't appreciate this shit at all, especially with everyone moving here and treating this State like Disneyland. Fuck is this guy thinking,

Gave them a shot on their pants after hating the last cut of the Saga bibs I had. Fit is much better for me. Not stoked with what he did or how he handles himself in general. Atleast he ships his gear unlike Saga.

Had a buddy that took a chance on Virtika once..ripped his first pair of pants day 2 and the replacements they sent were literally missing the zippers.

Oh also garbage people.

Can’t say I don’t like his videos as being funny and entertaining—guess I’m a bro.. but he’s definitely a prime example of one who needs to be taught he’s not above the law. Even the max $5k fine isn’t gonna hurt him too much so idk if they’ll somehow get creative or just have to wait for him to grow up

Lesh rides snowmobile across grass, all of Colorado freaks out. Vail Resorts legit destroys entire endangered species habitats, rips out forests, and creates an empire that's practically destroying Colorado with the excess winter tourism- no one cares.

I would equate this to dirtbiking. You don't see others w/ motors brapping up a protected area, so when someone uses a sled in the offseason to tear up a protected environment, it's a dick move. Most motorsport enthusiasts want to keep areas ridable not fucking ruin ones you weren't supposed to be in.

I definitely understand it's not good. All I'm saying is there is far worse environmental issues taking place that get shushed or completely forgotten about.

Then bring them to light, they get forgotten about because the people who know, like you, don't say anything specific. What the problem is, what the solution is, etc

Good point, but worth noting people did commit attacks on several of Vail's buildings and lifts, including a $10M lodge some years back. Total damage was 12 million.

eco terrorism is dope because it definitely doesnt directly make the problem worse

When the eco terrorists burned down Two Elk Lodge at Vail, Vail took the insurance money and built a larger lodge. Way to go eco terrorsts. You really showed Vail. You burned a building down that put more CO2 in the atmosphere which required using up even more of the earth's resources to build a new lodge.

That's why you should fight with your vote and not violence

Its not like dirtbiking at all. A dirt bike doesn't have a 2.5 foot by 10 foot track and most dirt bikers I know stick to trails and don't brap fragile tundra. A snowmobile track tears shit up when not on snow, not to mention overheat the engine.

poor puppy just posted on instagram, too bad he is referencing the place he was caught near the road and not the location he posted on his ig page. I'm pretty sure the Executive Director of the Independence Pass Foundation is well aware of the snowmobiling boundaries along hwy 82 between Aspen and Twin Lakes. Either way, riding a snowmobile on tundra is a dick move.

Must suck when you self incriminate yourself and have to go into hiding because of the blowback you've created for yourself. Not too mention, he is too much of a bitch to admit wrongdoing and just apologize.

Can anyone confirm if the area by the parking lot is wilderness or not?

Glad that he posted a new video but I am still suspicious. Sleds can generate a huge amount of energy so it’s not just like hiking around.

For better or worse the logos are a weak spot on their gear. If you haven’t already I suggest taping over all your logos so they don’t come apart and ruin your ski suit.

Oh for sure, it’s by no means a dirt bike. I just meant more in the sense that a dirt biker wouldn’t pull this shit. It’s the best comparison i could think of atm.

Saga isn’t sending orders and now Virtika is being boycotted by all of NS.

There are going to be so many track pants on the slopes this season.

yes it is

Snowmobiles are restricted to basically the highway along the independence pass corridor. There are often travel restrictions and motorized use restrictions in popular areas in National Forests besides Wilderness restrictions. It's similar to his Mt Elbert incident, the summit of mt Elbert isn't in wilderness, but motorized travel is restricted on the upper mountain.

Lesh opened his ig back up to comments after about a week of hiding, attacking those people that are upset at his actions and comedy has persued. I mean who calls the Vail Daily and Aspen Times the fake news media, not to mention he was too much of coward to respond to their requests for comment for the news stories they ran. What a joke.

I gained a lot of respect for Colter Hinchliffe who basically trolled Lesh and made his opinion known that what Lesh did was not cool and disrespectful to the Colorado outdoors community. Honestly, dude could have saved himself a lot of trouble if he just did the right thing, admit wrong doing and apologize. Maybe cut a check to the Independence Pass Foundation and get ahead of the incoming fine from the USFS. That's what a man would do

Hahaha and Newschoolers liked his post. Gotta keep those advertisers happy!

Fuck David Lesh and his stupid company. Act like a grown-up for once and just admit you made a mistake.

If you're going to create a huge public persona such as the one Lesh has created for himself over the years, you also must be ready to face microscopic public inspection. When a figure comes along who is cocky, arrogant, and in your face 24/7, the public is usually pretty eager to tear such a person down at any hint of wrongdoing. This is the danger of being a celebrity, especially if your fame was not gained through merit, humility, and respectable accomplishment, but rather through the act of being a dancing monkey, of being a clown. All eyes are on you when you play the persona of clown and such a person has many enemies, has much negativity focused upon them. Lesh will get what is coming to him if he keeps acting like a jackass. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. Textbook narcissism at its finest.

True, but I'd never even heard of viritka before joining this site, it's not a company moving a lot of product across multiple demographics.
