What would impress you more; seeing somone do 450 on, blindside switch up on a flat down gap if it was onto a box thats a foot and a half wide, or a rail thats 3 inches wide?

I should be, shit, I bet at the very least I could learn 270 on with multiple switch ups on a long flat box in the course of ONE day.

it's not that big of a deal. chill out. If candide can do cork 810 to RAIL and people are following him by doing sw 630 rodeo(I think that's what it was) then most pros will start doing that stuff on rails. It's not a big deal cause soon enough all of that stuff will be thrown on rails.

well don't be hating on pros if they do spins onto boxes; boxes are pratice for rails, so most people who are smart will try a spin onto a box first to ensure that they dont kill themselves/.

Spining onto, and on them is easy, and i dont see how people can be impressed by boxes. There is a BIG diffrence between a box and a rail.

They are fun to fuck around on, but dont need to be in PRO movies unless its some insane set up. Watch some of the Orage masters, and try and spot a rail. There was ONE rail i saw, and the rest where boxes. I watch PROs hitting a 4ft wide box and asked my self why would some one make a coruse for PROs will allmost all boxes.

Boxes also should not be in comps, im sick of going to a comp and getting beat by some one who spins onto a box and then all around on it. Doing a butter 270, and spin around 4 times on a box is easy shit, i dont care who you are you can do it. But i dont know of many pros who can do that onto a rail.

I fucking hate when people (especially in comps as Mister7 noted) spin shity 270s onto boxes then dont even try to stop their spin (which would require skill) and get scored well for some reason. Fuckzors

whoever started this thread (i can't remember your name) is gay. Boxes are for beginners, and progression. Besides, if you havn't skied park in three years, how do we no you can even slide a box. Again, boxes are for progression, and pros progress too. Why would they huck themselves onto a rail and possibly get hurt, then they may blow their whole season and potentiall a lot of money.

 
i think boxes look smoother than rails. i just have more fun on boxes because there's so much you can do.

 
yeah, boxes are fun, i enjoy hitting boxes, because it's easier... and good for learning... but being able to do something sick on a box means nothing. it really isn't that hard. there's no real balance involved. it's basically a step up from spinning 270s in your shower while you sing hollaback girl.... any fucking douche can do it. but i wouldn't want to see boxes eliminated from videos and comps completely, maybe decreased, but it's nice to see someone really maximize their style on a box

No shit people would rather see it on a rail but seriously thats some hard ass shit. ya rails are harder than boxes but if all they had in comps where rails nobody would spin onto them or do anuthing because you fall too often doing stuff on rails. It would just be the same thing over and over and would get boring.

I agree, I don't want to buy videos to see them do stuff I was able to do two years ago. Bring that shit to the rails.

On a side note, I think being good at rails means you are good on the rail, not good at getting on. However, since everyone hates anything to do with one foot, we are quite limited. Lets see some more 50 50s. Believe it or not, you can make em look good, it just takes time. I just think that not many people can actually really do them, hence, they become "gay."
