I'm in the market for an internet tv/streaming device, and I'm stuck deciding between Apple TV, Boxee, or even Roku.

Anyone have experience with any of these? Im testing out a friends Apple TV right now and it works great, but the allure of the apps on the other two seem pretty great.

Sooooo please brain dump me some information

I've been a boxee user since the alpha stage. When they lost hulu I stopped using it as much, but they have navigated around that by pulling video directly from the networks. Benefit with the apple TV is that you can airshare your screen if you have a mac. I have a full mac mini dedicated as a HTPC/media server. That's a more expensive route, but also has the most flexibility. If you have a ps3 or xbox plex is also something to consider, you run the "server" software as a background process on your computer and it serves the media via upnp or dlna to the ps3/xbox.

just search craigslist for a cheap desktop computer or mac mini that can play hq through hdmi port. i spent 300 bucks on a mac mini which isnbt too bad. its a million times better than apple tv or any of those things. imean just imagin the ammount of porn you can do on mac mini vs apple tv. and im sure you could get a desktop for around the same price with high specs to do what you need.

I recieved a small Boxee as a gift a couple months ago and it's probably the best thing i own right now (besides my computer). Perfect for rainy days and sitting inside watching edits on the TV. It's a good thing to buy a wireless mouse and keyboard because the remote that comes with it is a real drag to use sometimes.
