i made a really good boxbut i dont have a top sheet. i need to know what to use for the top sheet andwhere to get it.

carpet, astro turf alway work

my favorite are instant cement or instant pavement.

Also plywood with nails stick up out of it works really nice too.
 
plexi glass, puck board you can screw a few PVC pipes side by side into it. I guess you could just iceit over I dunno how well that'll work
 
i made a box out of an old computer table, the sht they use is really slippery, its like slding and actual pvc or lexan box
 
Actually, roofing shingles have a very high friction coefficient. So, using shingles will actaully defeat the purpose of trying to slide on skis. I would suggest something slippery.

I was just being sarcastic. I dunno why I always click on these threads, since i've seen over 100 of them, so i have to have fun somehow.
 
Sarcastic, huh? Is that just a cover up for your lack of knowledge. It is okay to admit that you don't fully understand friction.

lol lack of knowlege? I've built several of my own boxes using everything from plexiglass, PVC, lexan, sheet metal, and puckboard. I think i know a little about it. I was going to say sandpaper, but i thought roofing shingles would be funnier. I'm glad you feel more intelligent than me though. I hope it continues to work out for you in the future.
 
hahahaha so far we have carpet, roofing shingles, something about some sort of bar, and a bunch of sarcastic comedians. This is looking up to be a good thread.

high density polyethylene*(HDPE)

or HDPC(High density polycarbonate) will also work too... its the clear stuff I think whereas the HDPE is the white plastic... similar or the same as puckboard... not quite sure
