Box question

Okay so I just started riding the park a couple weeks ago. Decided I was bored with everything else I could do on the mountain so I bought some cheap old volkl expressions to screw around on. Anyways thats beside the point ive been skiing in the park like 3 days now and I can 90 on and ride most the boxes fine but when I pop off I can only seem to pop another 90 around so I'm going backwards and I can't seem to pop 90 around the other way to land forward no matter how much I try, any ideas??

also how do I get invited to the trick tips cult?? I messaged the leader but it hasn't even been read in like a week =(

don't pop off, you just have to cheat and straighten out a little at the end and than on the drop you'll go back straight foreward.

true about keeping your shoulders facing the direction you are moving. it will be easier to get off regular if half your body is already facing that way. i had the same problems when i was learning. but hey, skiing switch is cool too

try to rotate your body, not huck your legs. you don't need to pop you just need to let it your body do the work. with a little practice you'll be able to feel it when you come off and go switch or forward with ease.

I'm in kinda the same boat. I can get on fine and get to the end fine (usually at least) but I always screw up getting off. I've gotten around normal a few times, but it feels really unnatural. I tried getting off switch last night and that didn't work well at all. I'm thinking that I just need to hit the box going fast and then rotate as I'm flying off the end. I haven't tried that yet though because both my hips and my ass are incredibly bruised right now...

I cant get off natural for shit, i go off switch from everything. since i blow at spinning both ways and have no idea how to get faster, spinning un-natural is close to impossible for me, hence i need to come on spinning natural, and coming off while spinning natural means coming off switch for me, which is what happens everytime.

^dont think of it as spinning of switch, just keep your shoulders facing the way tou are sliding. when you reach the end, your feet should follow your shoulders

i agree. and it's actually easier(if you can ride switch) due ti the spinning momentum you gain by going into the box, its easy to spin the rest of the way just at the end of the box/rail and drop off switch.

style points +5

yeah same happend to me and I got into that habit, so i went with it and always land switch. It just sucks at the send of the day when they landings at mountain creek are huge holes. Impossible to land it, they usually have to close the features so earrlly damn snowboaders
