Bought some extremes, too long?

so last ski i had was a 171 ar6 center mounted and i hated it, too short. I'm 5'8'' and 140lbs and a fairly good skier i decided to go against buying 176 extremes so i got the 179s. i look at them and they tower but if i get them center mounted it makes em a bit shorter.

what do you guys think. 179 too long for 5'8''?

im in the same situation... im 5'8" skiied 171s last year now i picked up a pair of 181 moment rockers and they are perfect

nothing is too long on Newschoolers.com. Imho, If you thought your 171s were too short, 179 is only 8 cm longer (give or take a few cm, for actual length, although i have found K2 measurements to be spot on, at least for park skis) so it shouldn't be too big a leap.

first, rockered skis, ski shorter than skis with normal camber.

and if you center mount the skis will also ski shorter than mounting at reccomended, dont centermount skis that are too short for you. but it may take some getting used to, but like they say, the bigger the better.

k2 measuerments have always run short for me, if you measure a 179 it will measure out to be more like a 182-3 from memory

I think they measure contact length, running length, effective edge etc - instead of tip-tail
