Bored of Summer? Need a Skiing Fix? Look No Further!

Like the rest of you, I tend to suffer from extreme boredom, discouragement and anxiety during the summer months. All i think about is winter, and any ways that I could satisfy my need for skiing without actually having any snow. Over the past couple years however, I've perfected a skill that i thought could prove very useful to my fellow ns'ers. These are a couple things I have come up with ,that although not nearly as good as the real thing, could take your mind off of summer, school, etc. and get y'all hyped up for winter!

#1 - CARDBOARD FINGER SKIS!!!!!!

MATERIALS NEEDED:

- Hot glue gun

- Slightly corrugated cardboard

- Scissors, exacto knife / swiss army knife

- Fingers

- Artistic skills wouldn't hurt

- Patience and a can-do attitude!

STEP 1: CUT THAT CARDBOARD

Find some cardboard thats a little bit corrugated and preferably with that one laminated side or whatever you want to call it, so it's more slippery for the bottom. Most will be like that. Cut into desired shape of finger ski. Make two. (But snowboards are fun also)

STEP 2: BINDINGS

This part is the trickiest for the first few pairs. Find some cardboard and cut. Width should be to just where your finger nail meets your finger, at the cuticle or whatever. Length needs to be the EXACT width of your finger. If it's too small it will fall of and be annoying. Cut two, one for middle finger and one for index. (Don't forget your middle finger is thicker than the index finger.) Attach ends together with hot glue to form a circle. These are the bindings, where you stick your finger into. At this point go ahead and pimp out your skis, add top sheets, base graphics, curve the tips to desired rocker amount and everything. *TIP - add more layers of cardboard to make thicker, because one layer will bend really easily. It's cool to get pieces from cereal boxes and stuff too so your graphic are frosted flakes or something. Attach the bindings with hot glue, and you're golden! Sorry if that doesn't make much sense, refer to pictures for help:

^ i have added a platform under the bindings to prevent bending and breaking. Stagger them a little bit, because naturally your middle finger sits further in front of your index. Silly bands also make awesome straps for carrying and transporting places.

#2 - LEGOOO!!!!!!!1!!!!!11!!!!1!!!!111

MATERIALS:

- Lego!!!

- Pieces with smooth tops (Rails)

- People, ideally the bigger ones with feet the have two spaces

- Long skinny flat pieces, 6 or 8 spaces (Skis)

Get some lego, build a park with some rails, have hours of fun!

Pieces with smooth tops are rare, so head down to your local lego store and get some from the bulk bins. (Most malls have them nowadays, they're super awesome)

Also the pieces that you can connect together and bend are sweet for making kink rails. They are pretty rare, only come with like construction sets and stuff.

Peep these rad pics!

slaying the dope setup

So yeah that's that. Hope y'all enjoy it and this wasn't a huge waste of time. Later!

haha Jordan this is brilliant. I haven't really reached the point of lego ski slopes and fingers skis thanks to a trampoline and water ramps but I'm getting close.

Yeah the lego oneis really easy. I just got a little lego dude and put one of the 4 by 1s on his feet that are really thin. Try that its super fun. Nice job man those cardboard skis are super dope!

Agreed, while I too am anxious, I have summer hobbies to take my mind off that shit. Go outside and do something, fuckin a

my friends and i would make ski with scoth tape, paper clips, glue caps

and they can butter and shit

the extra glue in the cap would make ur finger stick
