Borders gift cards are the bain of my existence

So I have a borders gift card and am trying to order something online. It says I can only use it on borders items, as opposed to amazon items, though the two sites are interconnected. Every book I try to buy off of the borders website is being sold through amazon, however, and my gift card is not applicable to such merchandise. Fin.
 
There's a store a few towns over. I have a bum knee so I can't drive there right now so I was hoping to use the wonders of the internet, but apparently, Borders/Amazon hates me.
