i always get shin bang from landing big air. what boots can i get that'll stop that?

'this is so f**king not killer!'~ some snowboarder who landed on his head, as

heard from the chairlift.

yeah...i have the 1080 boots from last year. and I love them more then anything. most comfy things that have ever gone onto my feet.

I have some Atomic Zones. They were comfortable before I even broke them in. They have some flex put no too soft for the whole mountain. They look sweet and are very light. They only down side is they are expensive like all good boots.

yeah i just switched from some old shitty boots to 1080 boots and they are the best, no shin bang and i find them good for all mountain riding

you can still get shin bang even if you do land on the tranny, when i land backseat i get it bad too, and sometimes the tranny is shitty and i get it from that too, oh well i need some 1080 boots next year

I like skiing

If you reall want to get rid of shin bang get the Flexons. Those are pretty soft and usually are really good for shin bang.

I don't think it's the boot that gives you shin bang... It's how you're landing, and how often you're jumping. Landing in the back seat'll really do it to ya, and if you do nothing but jump all day, of course you're gonna get shin bang...

Yeah it's not the boot that much. I was always landing back or not correctly on my skis when jumping in the park and BAir, but this year I've been sticking my landings perfectly and guess what 'Shin Splintz' are all gone.

the only problem with the 1080 boot is that is sucks for big mountain...way too soft...find a boot that fits you good, has a thick toung, and you can even insert a moulded foam shinbang protector....i have boots with a flex of 110 (racing flex) and i can bottom out any jump and ski out fine (nordica boots kick ass)

it is the boot that gives shin bang... i had a stiff boot, and realy bad shin bang so swiched to my sisters boots... she had realy soft women boots and my shin bang went away realy fast... if u want a good jibbinh boot, u dont gotta spend 500$ on 1080 boots.. just get a nice soft boot that u like...

Personally, the 1080's didn't work, they're too soft. Booster straps kick major ass, just trust me, everyone who's tried them, including me, say that they absolutly cure shinbang, and help heal what you already have.

The Lange Jib boots are sooo comfy. I used to be in Rossis and then went to Lange. I have never gotten shin splints in these sweet thangs ::knock on wood:: I used to use the Booster strap also and that worked sooo good. Its only like 15 bucks too.

It all depends on what you can fit, I got the Salomon X-wave 10s, $600.00 cdn. and they are so comfy, they also some with softer bottoms so you can switch and you can take ou the two back bolts for more/less flex. Teneighties are skinny, X-waves are FAT. I GOT FAT FEET!

you dont get shinbang on x-wave 10's??? that's the second stiffest boot on the market that's not specifically designed for hardcore racing!!! i'm impressed (it is a really good boot design, but i thought it'd be a little stiff)

Did you see look at the date of the posts in this thread?

Also, there isn't really any way o prevent shin bang, except not landing in the backseat.

you just need to go down to a boot fitter and get properly fitted tell them that you get shin bang bad and that you want a boot thats not gonna cause that and they will find one that properly fits you. just having a boot that has been properly fitted can make a huge difference. also try booster straps they help a ton and buying some boots with intuition liners in them would prolly also help

It depends on how your feet is wide and how your calf is big. Every boot can be the best boot for you. Lange were a way too big for me. FT were the perfect fit but it was so hurtfull for the ankle. Ill try dalbello il moro's this year. they fit as similar as FT but they are a bit wider. go to try them at your local shop. they have to be tight enough and at a mid flex range. a kind of tongue that will be soft at the begining but hard at the end.
