Boot packing Stevens...

So I am driving back home from college and was thinking about making an excursion to Stevens on way back. I see the forecast is looking cool with some snow for the mountains. Would avalanche danger be real heavy in these conditions or has snowmelt taken away most of this danger.

I dont think I would go too high up but thought about making a trek up tye. Easier said than done, I may get halfway and say fuck it. But id like to get out and make a few turns tomorrow if its actually snowing instead of dumping rain up there.

Hm, there's a lot of un-coverage now most likely, so rocks will be your main problem. However, with all the rain and warming trends, those could freeze and create an unstable layer underneath this new snow. But if there's not much snow, it shouldn't be that great of a danger. However, seek a second opinion with someone who's more familiar with the area too.

I found out I got a D+ in Stats class and now I gotta go talk to some people tomorrow and get approval to take 20 credits this summer to stay caught up to graduate next spring. Fuck this sucks balls, summers going downhill fast.

"...HEAVY SNOW WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM THIS EVENING TO 8

AM PDT TUESDAY FOR THE NORTHERN AND CENTRAL CASCADES ABOVE 3500 FEET...

A HEAVY SNOW WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR THE CASCADES ABOVE 3500 FEET FROM 6 PM THIS EVENING UNTIL 8 AM TUESDAY.

A

STRONG...LATE SEASON STORM SYSTEM WILL DUMP 6 TO 12 INCHES OF WET SNOW

ON THE WEST SLOPES OF CASCADES ABOVE THE 3500 FOOT LEVEL TONIGHT. THE

SNOW LEVELS WILL START OFF NEAR 5500 FEET BUT WILL PLUMMET TO ABOUT

2500 FEET OVERNIGHT AS A COLDER AIR MASS INVADES THE REGION. LESSER

SNOWFALL AMOUNTS WILL OCCUR BELOW THE 3500 FOOT LEVEL... AND IT WAS

DOUBTFUL WHETHER THE SNOW WILL STICK TO THE ROADS BELOW THIS LEVEL."

Wow, I wanna get up there and play around, damn it.

Honestly, fuck finals. All ive been doing is studying and oh yeah... still a week left of this shittyness. Now its 10:07 so its time for me to go take one of these fuckers~

Id definitely be down if I had the gear. How much does a good skinning setup cost? I have no knowledge of that aspect of skiing, never been around it.
