BOOM! right to the point. I have big calves from sports and shit. I bought fulltilts thinking maybe the intuition liner would pack out a bit and make some room. But it didnt. and now my boots kinda hurt my legs. Anyone know any boots that fit bigger around the leg? or mybe any ideas that i could use on my fultilts? Thanks homies. K+ for good help

taking out the spoiler on the back might help on your FT's. i have to do it to most boots.

other than that a bootfitter could be able to recommend better boots.

yeah things like removing the spoiler, getting heel lifts, if there is room over the instep, or getting the cuff streched are possible, but take them to a fitter, and see what they think they can do, if anything. If you need new boots the bootfitter looking at your feet and legs will be in the best postion to recomend you a boot.

Yep, remove the liner and see where the cable loops into the cuff. You can (gently) pop out the cable with a flat head screwdriver and move it forward to the front position. Will definitely free up some space.

just fyi, you wanna stay away from heel lifts, and make that your absolute last resort, due to the fact the heel lifts alter your stance by a few degrees

^for big calfs heel lifts can actually work very well, as they raise the calf up out of the cuff somewhat. Stance wise it will put you foward somewhat but this is usally a good thing anyway.

Avoid heel lifts. The bottom of your feet will thank you. As for the calf, the cable suggestion is the number 1 fix. If its not enough you can get longer cables from FT or ask a shop if they have any XL Richele cables, same piece but it's 30 years old. If the cable options don't work enough, try slipping in low profile footbeds (I use volcano ones that I trimmed the sides down) . Fixed my calf pinch.

^the foot beds you put in did the same thing as heel lifts. they have raised your foot up (even if only a little) which in turn brings your calf higher up in the cuff. Footbeds are always a great idea but will not always on there own, fix a tight calf.

Footbeds and heel lifts are not the same thing. They tend to be used to treat similar issues but unless the heel lift tapers all the way to your toes, it's not the same as a footbed and IMO, suck

LOL i know there not the same thing, i was just explaing that the footbeds you got, helped your calf, i imagine becuase they raised your foot up. You could have done the same thing with a heel lift, thats all i was trying to explain. But a footbed is always a great idea for any boot.

No you missed my point. A footbed supports the entire length of your foot, a heel lift does not which leads to over stretching of the muscle on the bottom of your foot. Which is the reason I said avoid heel lifts if you can. No one should even type HEEL LIFT anymore...the Internet will be a better place.

hey i have the same issue with real big calves, couldnt even buckle a full tilt when i was gettin new boots this year. it may be different for you but i found the dalbellos fit my calves a lot better. they also have the intuition liner (if you get the ID) and they were able to accommodate my big ass calves

I have been boot fitting a while I know what your saying, but using heel lifts is a very valid fitting aid. I very often build a custom lift onto the footbeds I make. You are correct yes that a footbed is a good starting point, but if you were still getting calf pressure or heel lift for example, then adding a heel lift to the footbed, would be a very viable option.

The main reason I responded in the first place is people saying just get a footbed, without really understanding why it helps. I was trying to explain why raising the heel, be that by using a heel lift, a footbed or both works to help certain problems.

i had the same problem try using two socks or putting the strap under the toungue and buckle it over it...also make sure you have your cables tight so you dont move around.

+k hope i helped
