Boot fitting question

It totally depends on the model and year of the boot. As far as footbeds go, $30 for a simple insert up to $150 for a nice custom molded footbed.

Like matt said, 30 for some trim to fits, about 100 for conformable full customs, and about 150 for full custom cork footbeds.

In my experience, bigger shops charge full retail markup, whereas in some cases a smaller shop or maybe a legit bootfitter will sell you them for base price. Like for my boots this year, a shop in portland had them for $750, but the race shop at mt hood had them for $500. Probably depends on the area and shop mostly...

I'll be going to Larry's in boulder and I hear he is the most legit in the business. Well that is good to know. Thanks to you all!

now, very cheap like skis. Go try and buy(if they fit) now and you will get them cheap. Yesterday, I got new Solly Falcon CS Pros for $387. I tried about 5 similar boots too now that my feet are healed from the season and found these to be the best(and stiffest =D ) of all (rossi 120 was 2nd best, Ghost was a no, Nordica no, FT iffy, Dalbello no, and Banshee Pros felt soft and wide =( ) It is exactly like skis. Also, Intuitions might be a better bet than footbeds depending on your foot shape, they form the bottom well too. For all my shoes, I use SOLE footbeds, they are about $40 and heat mold perfectly to your foot, starting with a deep heel and large rise, so that they form perfectly. Not kidding, better than $300 also custom ones. get the black kind of them. I am getting intuitions for the Falcons, then after molding will see if I want FBs and a re-mold with them in. is this all you were asking?

Thanks. I can't do it now cause there is a high posibility my feet will grow. I have super flat feet that I have to see a doctor for so I think the better the footbed, the more I'll enjoy myself. I'll probably buy boots at the end of august or September.

Same as you, super flat feet. They have led to very bad achilles and knee problems and I was told to try these and they helped my legs soo much, not just my feet(they gave me some arch that kept my leg aligned). I had tried the stand in the gel thing and these are much better, which I did not expect from such a lower price. look up some other reviews, and at least try them in walking shoes if you are skeptical. http://www.yoursole.com/products/footbeds/softec/ultra/

two short reviews: http://www.amazingsocks.com/item.asp?pid=SU&Product=SOLE%20Ultra%20Softec%20Footbed&gdftrk=gdfV267_a_7c95_a_7c145_a_7cSU

Huh. I might give these atry. For the price, they certainly beat my $300 prescription insoles. You could use them in ski boots right? Even if they aren't boot specific?

yes, however they are thick. If you normally use a heel lift, no need with these. The black ones are thickest of all(from cushion on top). The only con of being thick is in some boots it moves your heel a bit above the heel pocket, mostly noticable in very soft boots(same problem with heel lifts, yet so many live with those in ski boots). Peace for tonight
