i know there is tons of threads on boots and what not but im going to buy boots this year cause my foot stopped growing and im not asking you to tell me what boot to get but can u name me some that i should look at if im in the park 50% of the time and groomers and such the other half. because i dont want to go to a place and try on every single boot so just maybe recommend a boot so i have something in mind when i go to my local shop
 
if you go to a boot footer they will sit you down and asses your feet, see how stable they are, listen to issues you have had in the past then selct the approiate boots for you. To be honest its better you dont llok at boots before hand or you may just end up disapointed if the boots you like dont fit. Go in blind and let the boot fiiter do there job.
 
being disappointed isnt a concern. there are plenty of boots out there, i was just look for some suggestions so i could ask the dude to try such and such on to see if i like them...
 
This is not how it works. The boot fitter decides what boot youre going to ski in. We have all been doing this for years. WE know what will fit you, not you. Its tough for people to tell what the boot is going to fit like after its packed out. Typically people with piss and cry about how tight a boot is. The fitter should explain the fact that if they get a bigger size, wider last, it wont fit correctly. 9 times out of 10, they come back thanking you.
 
stop telling me to let them fit my foot to a boot i get that. all im asking is some suggestions of boots i should ask to check out. im obviously not going to get a boot that doesnt fit i jsut dont want to be trying on every god dam boot in the store.
 
and you wont be there will be at max 3 boots that will work for you. Do you see, its inpossible for anyone to guess which these boots will be, so just wait and see what is picked out for you.
 
EVERY BOOT HAS A DIFFERENT FIT. THERE IS MAYBE 1-2 BOOTS THAT YOU WILL FIT IN PROPERLY. What is so difficult about this. You cant just expect to pick one arbitrarily over the internet and try it on. Thats why boot fitters have a job. We know all the boots inside and out. We know what fits what footshape. Without your foot in front of me, its impossible to recommend anything.
 
Just because every little kid on here has fulltilts or spks, doesn't mean any of them actually fit them right. It great marketing, bad boot fit. Fulltilt 98mm, and the spk105mm, are at the relative ends of the boot spectrum. The majority people lie somewhere in the 101-102mm range. Yeah, you can jam your foot into a 95mm race plug, with expensive fitting, but you aren't racing.
 
honestly, there aren't that many boots.

when people come into my shop and i talk to them about what kind of skiing they do, how long they've skied, and other little things, i usually end up pin pointing one or two pairs of boots....

go to a damn boot fitter and let them do their job
 
if you are really looking for feedback, go try on some boots that a boot-fitter has recommended. the one that fits best is the best boot for you regardless of its "features". However, if there are two boots that fit you well and you would like our opinion on each before you pick one, by all means ask. But first go to a boot-fitter, have him/her assess your foot shape etc, try on 3 max 4 boots, and pick the one that fits you the best.
 
Everyones right on going to the boot fitter.I went in the other day and spent an hour or 2 finding out what boot to get.he fitted me, and heated up a couple pairs for me to try out and walk around the store for 20 min each, and flex around.
Just take your time, they don't make commission so they just wan't you to get whichever boot is best for you.
 
You're an idiot, stop internet boot shopping gaper. We all know the answer you're really looking for is FullTilt and or SPK.

Go to a reputable fitter, tell them the characteristics you are looking for in a boot, but be open to their suggestion.
 
I have been laughing at this for about 5 mins as well.

Tuesday, when the blonde middle age woman wants the pretty Nordica boots with fir around the cuff I will yell in a very commanding voice: "I WILL ASSES YOUR FEET"

"PLEASE STOP. I WILL ASSESS YOUR FEET MAM'."
