I want to pursue something business related as a career. I want to read a book that deals with business in some way. It could be something like a nonfictional story or really anything. I'm not looking to read any textbooks or giant coffee table books or manuels. Something I can carry around thats cool and informative and can give me a taste of the business world.

Thanks.

The World is Flat by Thomas Friedman is pretty good. It talks about the "flattening" forces of the world, or the things that make everyone even in the business world. He talks about Dubai and pretty much everything is outsourced nowadays.

It's on Amazon for like $10.

I have a book that I really enjoyed reading, it's called "You Call The Shots" and it's by Cameron Johnson.

it's his life story basically, although he's only in his 20s. Anyway he started his first business at age 12 and he's a millionaire at this point. He started a whole bunch of different businesses, and he's super successful already in his mid 20s. It's a really cool story about how he decided that starting and developing businesses was what he wanted to do with his life. I would highly recommend it.

The Lexus and the Olive Tree by Thomas Friedman..talks a lot about globalization and economics..a must read for those pursuing business

If you like biographies, read Warren Buffet's. It's an awesome read, although long. I finished it over one of my breaks. It's called "The Snowball: Warren Buffet and the Business of LIfe"
