Both of them already have huge bids on them. Bone Thugs-N-Harmony have a bid of 1 mil and wu tang is sitting at 5mil. I would guess wu tang will go for more aswell. It just sucks that it could only ever get heard by one person.

Honestly, its a great idea, because music is art, and by conventional standards, most art is or belongs in museums. But music doesn't work that way. However, the whole point of music is for people to enjoy. So why the fuck should I have to go to a museum to pay 7 bucks or whatever to listen to the only copy of the album in existence. I want to bump that shit when I'm skiing, driving down the highway, eating a corndog, whatever. I think its fucking selfish for Wu Tang and Bone Thugs to do this. Just give the people the music. Its us you get to thank for being famous, we deserve your music. Without us, they wouldn't be shit.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that once those copies are in the hands of the people buying them, they can do with them what they want, including leak them on the internet for free/copy and sell them.

Either way though, I don't really care. Not a fan of either groups and both of their recent work has been lacking anyways. I'll care if the The Diplomats, or Ruff Ryders/LOX decide to do this.

Unless this is some kind of special case because of the one copy, I don't think you're allowed to do that. Leaking albums for free is illegal, and so is making copies and selling them. Whoever buys it could just make 5 and then auction those off. I'm interested to see if these albums really end up only getting heard by one person ever.

I heard they were auctioning the publishing and rights to the music, not just the hardcopy of the album itself. If that were the case, it would most definately be legal to leak them or post them up on itunes.

Yea the person who buys it could leak it or post them on iTunes but they could also just as easily decide not to do that. It would be good if it was released, really depends on who buys it.

record label could buy it an distribute it themselves.

Yeah as long as the label is independent and run by a benevolent soul with money to burn. There's not a major label out there that would buy the rights to a single project for 5 million dollars, especially not one created by a group of artists who are, from an industry point of view, completely washed. It's not a smart investment, and the labels are having a tough enough time these days as is, since no one's buying records like they used to.
