I picked up a fox moto roost guard for sub 100 at the local powersports store, use it mostly fir mtb but had it on for a rail jam this szn and saved my ribs quite nicely

To be honest I am considering buying some . I always thought it was unnecessary but a recent slip out on a cannon rail to full ass bust on an icy landing seems to warrant the thought

I think under armour/nike/etc, anyone who makes football gear has compression padded shorts that arent too expensive. Used to wear those when skiing pipe.

Look for used stuff. Back protectors last a real long time so it would be worth it to buy quality. I have a sly tech that is at least 6 years old and still saves me all the time.

I've got an older Poc back protector I've never used I'm happy to part with for cheap. Pretty sure it still has tags on it. Would much prefer local pick up in SLC, UT than shipping. I think it's size medium? $20 local pick up, $30+shipping if I have to find a box and go to a post office seem reasonable?

Last week I fell backwards on a rail and cracked a rib (pretty sure, I heard a crack and it's still painful).. back protector would have been a nice. I would have paid $100 to not have that happen.
