Bob Costas is the MAN

I agree with Dingo 100%.

The thing I love about skiing is how unique, careless, and system-fucking it is. Freeskiing is just that, free, and that is what makes it great.

HOWEVER, Costas compared it to a show (which I happen to love) of guys doing talentless stunts for the sake of getting a reaction out of a people. That's all good and fair, except for the talentless part. The amount of skill these olympians have is incredible, and Costas paid that no respect. It was his connotation in his words that count, saying that "slope style" is a bunch of idiots doing dangerous stunts with no skill. This made me mad because the olympic's beloved ski jumping, racing, and aerials are just as, if not more dangerous than what we do. We are a rebellious sport, with less emphasis on technique, but that doesn't mean the guys out there deserve to be waved off. It took so much practice and natural talent to get to where they are today, and I think that deserves some admiration.

Tl;dr: Jackass stunts don't take skill; free skiing does. That is why I don't like what Costas said.
 
OMG, I care about skiing so much more than everyone else. My opinion about skiing is the only way so fuck everyone else that looks at skiing differently than me. LOOK AT HOW MUCH I CARE ABOUT SKIING! Like, how could you even think skiing is about that?!
 
No one to blame but the skiers putting a lot on the line for not a lot in return... Maybe your friends trying to make it should get an agent now that skiing is so big time!

You don't know shit about Logan. I mean, neither do I in reality but I do know that he isn't pursuing a career in skiing in the way Drail made it sound. He works his ass off all summer to be able to ski all winter, and it just so happens that he is so damn good at skiing that people want to film him doing it. I'd say that's being a ski bum to the fullest extent of the word, not a jaded park skier striving for sponsors and exposure. He's just a guy voicing his opinions. This is directed at Drail as well.
 
Haha, I'm not going to act like I'm not jaded. I'll admit, I'm jaded, naive, idealistic, and a ridiculous jackass. BUT I do love skiing more that anything. And I don't just work in the summer, I work have to work half of the winter as well. I'm even buying my first RV to live in and ski out of. So yeah, you could say a ski bum, but surely one that doesn't take this shit too seriously.

Can't really say someone isn't trying to pursue a career in skiing when they entered the super unknown and travels around the world to film for a ski video. People (even the really good ones) who aren't pursuing said career don't do that.
 
Funny, because I happen to know Logan pretty well. I admire his "fuck all" mentality which prompts him to work his ass off to do something he enjoys. He doesn't jump through hoops and change who he is for some measly product. He's the real deal.
