i'm a junior at episcopal high school....its fun, and you get much closer and cooler friends out of it...people you'll know for the rest of your life..and you get some good connections from grads once your in the real world..

I went to prep school at St. Marks, which is in the ISL with Brooks and Groton (2 people said you're goin there). Groton and St. Marks are traditional rivals, which you will soon learn. It gets engraved into you. I played squash, but Groton always beat us and Brooks usually did too. I also played lacrosse, and we beat Brooks and Groton regularly. 4 of the best years of my life. My prep school friends continue to be my best friends even now that I'm in college. Its something you'll share forever that is a much different experience than college.

Whats so much fun about having people supervising you that are not your parents? Living in dorms? Whaaaaaat. Doesnt make sense at all unless they offer better education.

Um actually Martinas Pocius was the top basketball draft pick for the college teams this year...no doubt he'll be playing in the NBA...and he goes to boarding school

alright, prep schools and boarding schools are really popular in new england..i go to a day prep school but most of hte schools we paly in sports are all boarding schools. I go to kingswood oxford in west hartford , CT..boarding schools are better for certain sports..such as lax, hockey, basketball and several others...They tend to be better because they can recruit kids and give them financial aid, etc..to play for them and they get to live their..so some schools for soccer where i live with have 3-4 jamiaccans on their team..It is also a better education and such.

for pro sports and prep school, Deerfield academy in mass has had a ton of hockey players move up to the pros. I heard that comment during the last BU game.

I go to Santa Catalina School. its one of the top 5 west coast boarding schools, apparnetly. I HATE IT. AHHHHHHHH. boarding school ruined my life. it is all girls, private, catholic and VERY STRICT. i live at home and drive 45 min every day to get to school and i dont have time for a life outside of school. it sucks! the girls who live on campus are allowed out one afternoon a week and 2 weekends a month with parent calls from everyone, plus 3 extra weekends a year. the education is really good, i guess, but i wish i went to co-ed, like Robert Lewis Stevenson in Pebble Beach. fuck catalina, 33 days til graduation.

being a prep is fun but it sucks too. i would say yes on boarding school, no on single sex boarding school.

^shit that sucks. I go to a Catholic Private school as well but its chill as hell. I think its because its in Canada.

The dude who wanted names of people from prep schools who went pro...you are obviously not very educated in this matter, because there are tons. Check out hockey:

Tony Amonte, Brian Leetch, Rick Dipietro, Doug Brown, Scott Young, Mike Dunham, Chris and Peter Ferraro, Eric Lecroix, Marty Mcinnis, Mike Mottau, Tom Poti, Jeremy Roenick, just to name a few.

Want others? There are tons of pro lacrosse players, but I doubt many people have heard of them.

Fair amount of basketball players, but I don't follow bball well enough to give you names off my head. Prep schools don't tend to be very good at football, so I doubt there are many there. A ton of olympians are prep scohoolers, especially sports like Crew, which are huge there.
