Bluetooth Audio vs Headphone Cord Controls

I am trying to find a better way to control music on the slopes. I've tried the Motorola S9-HD headphones, but they cut out at speed... making them totally useless for skiing. Right now I have a pair of Skullcandy earbuds that have a 1 button control on the cord, but the location of the button is a pain in the ass and sometimes I can't reach it underneath my head scarf or bandanna.
What do you guys use to control your music when riding? Do you use music controls or just throw on headphones & deal with it. I am finding it very hard to deal with ear-bud style headphones while wearing a helmet + baclava. I like the ear buds, but tend to yank them out of my ears while trying to reach the pause button.

sorry for double post
using the adaptor you could double the cord over so the controls were up near the top of your jacket cause the wire would be alot longer?

The headphone adapters are a great idea actually, I found a few of those. As an added bonus, some of them even have a Mic built in.

I'm actually considering picking up a pair of Plantronics BackBeats. Bluetooth audio is the shit... I can't speak highly enough for not having to fuck with cables or worry about yanking your earbuds out of your ears while fiddling with the wires/trying to find the pause button.
