So I really, really wanted to go skiing today, and the only option would have been Blue hills, but I had to work on college apps. I'll prob go this friday with my team, but I was curious if anyone knew how good their terrain park is. I just want a few rails/boxes for early season. so whats the 411 on Blue Hills people?
 
haha i literally live 5 minutes from blue hills..

they usually don't have jumps at all.. or if they do it's extremely shitty.. but for jibs they have:

DFD flat bar rail (somewhat small)

trap box

flat box

and they also just got a 24 foot down rail that will be set up urban style.. hopefully they got a few other things too.

it's my understanding that they will be open from tomorrow on.. made a lot of snow with these cold temps, and it also says that the "terrain park" is open, most likely a few rails.. so I should be there 3-4 times a week just hiking the rail garden.
 
thats sick i live rele close to blue hills to not 5 mins but closemaybe ill join school race team just to get up there alot and run off to do rails
 
i was there today. they have a flat box. trap box. dfd rail and a barrel bonk. it was fun! i was the only girl...no surprise...not even any girl snowboarders...

there was a kid there today tho....red jacket...volkls.....black helmet...no poles.....you on here? he was doing switch on and stuff. seemed cool. if you on here and ride at blue hills a lot hit me up we should ride together!
 
hahaha blue hills is really a funny hill but i do live 5 minutes away so like Sean. said most likely will be there on week nights hiking the so called park. So if anyone spies some nigs at the hills it will be sean. and me so hit us up and we can make the best of the features.
 
I heard that they have a quarter pipe with a log on top. and they put in a down flat down rail. next time i'll go is maybe friday night w/ the team.
 
if you go to blue hills.. just hike the park.. it most certainly is not worth paying for a ticket.. there are only 1-2 trails and get boring after your first time down..

i went last week and they had trap box, flat box and down rail.. all were maintained pretty poorly.. esp the ride-on urban lip.. and i saw that they put the DFD rail but im not sure if it replaced anything.

it's a pretty good way to kill about an hour or so.
 
just so you know the other day i was there and they were checking passes in the park. but it was a sat afternoon. if you go during the week or at night no one should give you a hard time
 
also if you wanted to take the time and effort...they dont scan....and their passes are easily duplicated. just something else to think about
 
Thinking about heading down there after work, before the ice age hits this week. Anyone know if its proper right now, or a waste? I dont wanna go if its not maintained.
 
i saw it last night at my race, didnt jib it, but its alright with the new snow, the had the dfd rail, the trap box to the side, and the flat box below those. they looked alright.
 
i probably heading up there tomaro is the setup good?and whats this about hiking? so they check passes if u just hike the rails?
 
the cat hit the trap box and now its bent and the wood sticks out but u can still do itthen they dragged the flat box away, and the dfd wasnt set upother then that it was pretty fun
 
the trap box that had floppy side plywood that the cat hit was semi-hittable, the down bar and the tiny jump, which they made bigger this morning
 
ohh and watch out on the jumps landing, i got screwed on that. once a snowboarder lands they just carve imediatly to the handle tow making a mogul so watch out if youre doing 1s or anything. i was doing 1s all day then went into the lodge to check on my friend (i think he broke his arm idk what the lastest news is) i went back out to ski some more do a nice japan 1 and stomp it and then all of a sudden my tails got caught in the mogul and double ejected me backwards. i go up again ang go off the rightside of the jump and straight air to aviod the mogul, land it and then my tips catch another stupid powder moul with my tips causing me to yet again double eject me to a faceplant. so there is a lesson to be learned here watch out when you land!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
what was ur friend hitting when he hurt his arm?and btw you should have seen the jump saturday morning. the landing had a 3x3 pit right in the middle until they groomed it haha
 
the pit was there still. but my friend went off the little hip option and hit his hand on an ice chunk which made him land on that shoulder. it has now been confrimed that his left arm is broken
 
new pics on facebook! they changed the down bar to an elevator (kinda ride on) they fixed up the trap box and made it ride on, they set up the dfd, and where the 5 ft table stepover used to be they now have the "pleasure pipe" which is a corrogated pipe set up like an elevator. (painted the base to look like a giant dick).

i ate it so hard on the dfd oncebut i was able to get it few times before that
Anyone know if they actually change the park every week?
