Bloom or Saga

The hipster in me will always go with bloom, orage is another damn good option. They're more widely known so if you're trying to avoid that I'd go with bloom or maybe tomahawk.
 
I never used Saga but I got a Bloom jacket this season and it was amazing. Super light and the waterproofing was great. I wasn't wet at all that season.

Have to question this. How can you say that when we make things like the fatigue Jacket and pants. I'm willing to bet you can look through just aBout any brand that makes more than 2 styles and find something you think is whack.

Also is 2015, can we stop using "gay" to describe things you don't like.

But on to the OP. We're definitely biased. But we thinl we make the best products for their price and maintain a close relationship with our core customers as much as possible. The core customer built saga and we will never forget them.

people who wear baggy pants enjoy minimally branded clothing too, even if it is earth toned having a giant neon logo on it kind of detracts from the look.

I understand that some people dislike the new stuff Saga has put out but seriously. In the end it's all skiing, let them do their thing and if you don't like it don't buy from them. I still love my Bloom jacket and I have never had Saga but I don't hate them because of some stuff they are experimenting with.
 
No need to slander other companies if you don't like their style! Saga is sick and they'll always support skiing. That said, Bloom is also an awesome smaller company and Jim works really hard to make great products, so I always encourage people to check Bloom out!
 
People may disagree, but Saga has done so much for the park and freestyle scene over the past few years IMO. Their brand has a huge influence in the skiing community and its really cool to see Saga's success in a market where that "look" and "style" had been associated with "snowboarding first" brands. I know Sage sponsors boarders too, but they are still primarily a skier brand. I also notice a lot more snowboarders wearing Saga and it makes me realize how the tables have turned because i remember a time where the only way to look cool an stylish in the park was to where primarily snowboard brands. Don't get me wrong, I love what Bloom is doing and think they are really innovative, but i just think its cool to see a long time core park skiing brand, like Saga, have the success that they've had and I feel that there is something nostalgic about supporting them.

Same here. They look pretty good together as well. Both companies have great customer service too. If I had to choose, Id go Bloom, but there is really no reason to hate on either companies.

Saga - I have bought a couple suits from you guys and both times the XL jacket fit was ridiculous. It's just not my style, too baggy and ive had to sell/trade it every time. I LOVE your snowpants tho, no complaints there and your outerwear tech in general is on point. I left my OG black pants in the lodge this season and it was the biggest bummer ever.

Just got a pair of Bloom pants for this upcoming season, they seem sick.

Maybe order a size smaller than xl or try out one of their differences jackets with a different fit.
 
I am not that familiar with the workings of the saga business, but I have a lot of respect for them. I think what they create is high quality and am also impressed with their diversity in design.

What is interesting about Bloom is that it is only run by one person, me. My name is Jim and I think my passion for playing chess is a great analogy for business. Chess is a great mental exercise. Each game in itself is so complex and their are millions of ways that a game can unfold.

Creating and designing outerwear is a very similar experience for me to the game of chess. It is a tantalizing intellectual pursuit. I lay awake many nights in my bed constantly thinking about ways to innovate and make things that are different, unique, and agreeable with my own tastes.

I am not one for being flashy so when I design, I love to make things that are subtly intricate. They do not scream for attention, yet there are subtle details that really enrich the overall piece. This year, the quilting pattern featured on the onward jacket and the upward pant in combination with a chambray fabric was such a beautiful combination. I am so happy with how it turned out!

I have grown up within this skiing community and became quite a good skier myself. I am now 25 and am starting to take less risks and am appreciating the good health of my body as well. I still love skiing though and I love the people that are in this community. There is something so free-sprited about skiing in comparison to most other sports. It attracts a certain personality type. I wouldn't even consider skiing a sport. I would moreso consider it a form of artistic expression. Think of all the best skiers you know, they have their own personal style similar to how a painter or musician as their unique imprint. That is what makes skiing so cool. We all have this ability to express ourselves in a unique manner and I love that.

I do not make a great deal of money doing what I do. I simply do it because I love skiing. I have begun to change my priorities regarding life. I do not wish to hoard great deals of wealth for myself. Wealth of the wallet does not equate to wealth of mind or the soul. So, I am beginning to understand that I am a member of this community and have the capacity to spread my joy and love for skiing and being free spirited through my business. What a treat it is to be connected to all of you guys. I've had the opportunity to work with some great skiers and man, I am so grateful to be doing what I am doing! Thanks to all of you for the support! It means a lot to me. Bloom is my life and it is such a blessing to still be in business thanks to you guys.

I will continue to make items that agree with my personal taste. I am not about making items that are sure sell. I am in this business because of the artistic expression it gives to me. I will keep trying to bring things to life which are valuable to me in hopes of sharing my creations with you :).

This really depends, They're both kickass brands. Personally, I ride with Sabek, I tend to enjoy their simpler designs and how low key and off the grid they are, compared to orage, saga, etc. If you want a pretty mainstream and most likely flashy setup, go with saga. If you want some simple designs and smaller companies, stick with Sabek or bloom.

Amen. Love Bloom and Sabek low-key. Saga has lived up to the standards quality wise for me, but so has Saga and Bloom and I can usually find their stuff a little cheaper from sales and stuff. Can't wait for both companies 2015/16 stuff to go up. I think Saga dropped the ball on their 15/16 line up
 
Bloom is sick, but I've only worn the pants. Last season there was a problem with the quality of a component on the Slims, and Jim personally took care of it for everyone involved. It really just depends on what you're looking for, though.
