Blide side or front side

ok. So I searched pretty hard to find an answer to my question, but I unfortunately couldn't so I am asking you NS. My friend and I got into an argument about which way is easier to spin. I told him that it depends on which way you grind and which way you spin, and so really its all the same. He said that the blindside spin in general is harder then the frontside. I agree partially to this statement as the frontside 2 is way easier then a blind 2. The blind 4 and so on though, i feel have a easier aspect since you can carry your momentum through the trick. I grind left and spin left and I can front 4 out of just about anything, my friend ,on the other hand, grinds right and spins left. I think he should be able to blind 4 out of just about anything as well. So what do you guys think is easier in general, the frontside spin, or a blindside spin.

P.S my friends name is penguinsteeze and you will probably see him in here at some point.

For sure. It's definitely tougher on the mind having to go blind on the feature. However, I think it looks way better than frontside and feels cleaner when you get it.

i learned front 2s first. i think they're easy, basically just get to the end and spin about 180 and you pretty much got it. in terms of 270s off, i think nothing is better than a smooth blind 2, but once you go to 4s off, its like front, blind, whatever, its still a 4, so who cares.

ok so i know that the front is easier to learn because its not as scary, but once you have both of these tricks down, i feel like it just comes down to which way you spin. Also not counting the swaps and just spinning off the end of the rail I feel like like the blind should be as easy as a front side depending on which way you spin.

for me, front 2 is a little harder than blind 2 unless i get on the rail from switch. they're each not that scary. swaps, blind is way scarier and harder for me, but i can get front swaps almost every time.

this is true for the most case i believe. I spin left and naturally slide right foot forward and find blind swaps and spins off rails much easier (excluding the front 2 which is the easiest rail trick no matter which way u spin)

I find blind easier for me. It is my natural spinning direction but I think its much easier to commit to because you are landing straight.

blind was way harder for me to learn, but i have yet to get 4 outs, front or blind, so i couldn't tell you. but so far from what i know i'd have to say front is waaay easier

front is way easier for me at least, i can't figure out how to set a blind swap or 2 out half the time

Front 2 out is the skrillex of rail tricks. spin blind, it looks cooler,

btw do whatever is more natural, definitely will make learning and progression easier

I can front 2 of of more things than I can blind 2 off. But on the bigger round jibs blind 2's are butter. I kind of depends on the jib for me.

it depends on the way you spin. my brother and i both grind right foot forward, but he likes blind 2s while i like front 2s

I love blind surface swaps and bs spins, they feel so smooth, and frontside feels a bit weird for me a lot of the time

I feel the exact same way... For the purpose of the thread, FS spins out are generally regarded as much easier to learn/do. Blindside is way sicker though IMO

I grind right foot forward and spin left and I can spin frontside (to the right) way faster off of rails than I can off of jumps.

this.

try different taps too like slide, tip tap (or w/e it's called) on the side of the rail to switch or forward once you get good at it

Blind sides all day. Looks way better than front. BS swaps are way harder to commit to than FS swaps.

yeah true. i slide right foot forward and spin right so going natural on a feature i feel more comfortable doing front spins but if i come on unnatural i prefer blindside spinning.

When i pretzel (or whatever you want to call it) for my front 2 out, i tilt my right ski (front ski) back so the tip is tilted up. And i use it to help push off.

That is not a pretzel. That is called scissoring. Pretzel is when you spin off the rail in the opposite direction of what you spun onto the rail.

for me spinning blind is definitely easier cause i spin left and slide rails right foot forward, but blind spins are way scarier so i guess front is easier in a sense

to add on to that... you must spin more than a 90 on to the rail, for example if you 270 on to the rail and then blind 270 out ,that is a pretzel, switch 270 on to the rail front 270 out... also a pretzel, and so forth.
