Bleeps vs. Blank sound

in edited for TV movies the bleep sound taking place of a profanity has far more impact, and much more stimulating than a blank space in the soundtrack, true or false?

Either works, blank is easier for sure, just dont replace words.

I think bleeps are pretty newsish/reality tv while blank is better when youre watching a movie or dramatic show, takes less away from the visual.

Over the years I've had to remove lots of bad words to make stuff suitable for broadcast. Use a bleep (tone from bars and tone) if you want the impact of the cuss word, drop the audio out if you don't want to draw attention to it.
