well we opened and we had a jib park at the bottom it was fun but we are now starting to blow snow and the park will start to take shape. we already have a log stall set up and we have a log jam built. Also there is a lift tower we used in the early season park with tons of possibities. I dont have an idea when we will have a jump set up but hopefully soon, it not looking to good with this rain coming in though. Lastly we have some rails being welded as we speak, so kepp looking around i will post more updates as the season progresses.

yeah the man-made log features looked sick when i saw them. i hope we can get a park goin soon. probably won't get a good jump for the upcoming weekend but hopefully there will be some of the new rails and the boxes up.

thee is an early season edit up on youtube just type in blandford

but for updates we plan on moving all of our stuff up top and plan on some stuff set up on yodeler and some on chrysler by the end of the week

ive gone everyday this week and am hoping everyday that there will be something in the park. hows it looking for a box or a rail in the actual park in the next few days

the park has been set up with a flat mailbox type rail into an elevated flat box or log stall then into a down rail or an Abox and a tire stall at the end no jumps yet still need more snow

as of 1/6/10 a small battleship rail has been put in along with some log features and coming soon a new nice long round rail

jumps are on there way some more snowmaking and at least one will be up but def expect a jumps line this season, we have worked on some diff plans

sick the battleship rail looks pretty sick but just wish it was longer. also is the round rail gonna be like 20 feet or sometin?

jump by the end of this this weekend? also i have a 12 ft long flat bar urban style down rail, it used to be over a stair set, that you could use as a flat rail, down rail, up rail...or whatever. i dont know if you guys want since you are already getting some new rails but you guys can have it

the first jump will be about a 15ft so there will be enough speed for the first one and then there should def be enough speed for the second one. it doesnt really apply to us but the signal snowboard team is gonna be at blanny this saturday 1/9/10

how did you guys change the park when you closed it early on sunday? i saw how you took the box out, and were positioning the snowblowers

did anyone go up on tonight? i didn't go cuz i was gettin new skis remounted. i heard they were blowin snow to build jumps and reshape most of the park for tonight and the weekend cuz the colorado ski shop comp is tomorrow. anyone updates would be nice, i'll be so pumped if they got the 3 jumps set up for the comp tomorrow!

blandford is actually not allowing colorado to come back and do any more comps because they were unorganized and they disrespected blandford and its employees

more like vouchers, and they actually run more sound then colorado comps. compete against kids your age, you wont do so hot

Cooper, Nate, and Ryan,

We're all in agreement that the first of the Jam Series didn't turn out as planned. We had a very short time span to put that event together, combined with info not being communicated between both shop and mountain employees.

There is going to be a formal meeting with the Blandford crew to organize the second event which will be at Blandford on Feb 6th.

The plan is to select a couple to rails and jumps to hold the entire event on rather than the whole park.

We can run a great event, just happened to toss a so-so one into the mix.

More info will be posted about the next jam.

Feel free to PM or email me with any questions:

well if its rail jam, make it rail jam. No competition at blandford should have a jump in it, there jump sucks. and some legit prizes would be nice, and a event that isnt time consuming, don;t open the event to 1038842 kids and their cousins and grandparents. keep that shit under wraps, so moe kids will jump at the chance to enter the next time. it will keep organization a lot easier, and the comp easier to run, and dont volunteer blandford kids to judge, they dont wanna. Also have people who know the respective sports judge, not someone who doesnt know what a switch up is from a pretzl switch up.

my 2 cents

Does Colorado ski shop know how to build a park? Does Blandford have a park crew that would work with CO to make something worth while?

What skill level are you hosting an event for?

sick ! i really liked that coragated pipe that you could launch out of and that new down rail was perfect

so how is blandford looking overall? park and everything.

I plan on heading over this weekend because i haven't skied in a fucking long time, and i need to get back into it.

theres several good rails, a fun flat up down box, and a so-so jump. yesterday with the new snow they made some fun booters in the park into powder

The park is looking great right now, its by far the best it has ever been. Heres the layout

at the top it starts with a 20ft downrail

then into either a tire or a lift tower or up down corrugated tube

then into a hip or a corrugated spine

then into a down rail

then its a choie of either the jump or a line with a big pipe rail with a flat up down box

or a line with a flat rail unto a rainbow bar into an a rail

and towards the bottom of the hill we have a rainbow log into a qp

the jump has been a little lack luster but we're going to rebuild it today 3/5

it will be rebuilt to be about 35-40ft with a taller longer lip.
