BLADING VS SKATEBOARDING

it might be easier to do a rail on blades but there not just doin rails
 
Although, especially after taking a gander at that video, I respect rollerbladers and the sport.

However, I honestly don't think there is a dispute here, that skateboarding is the worlds most skillful sport. I know, although I couldn't do either, that I would come a hell of a lot closer to 450ing onto a rail on blades than I would any of the shit that say Rodney Mullen does. It's indisputable.
 
think of it this their is nothing to blading their like 2 skate shoes on ur feet so all u have to do is jump and slide . skating on the other hand is actually hard u have to keep a board under ur feet at all times or else ur going to diesothei9r is actual skill

ive skated for a summer and it really improved my skiing because of all the balance and shit

they are 2 différent sports

it could be bmx agaisnt inline or skateboarding. they both have there technical difficulties. Personnaly I prefer skateboarding, but I would not diss inliners telling them they sucks cause that's totally wrong, they rocks too it's just different and people teling that you just gotta jump on the rail and slide on inline you should check the trickx that they throw on those rails it's like 100 time more technical than in skiing.
 
Some of you are so ignorant. Most everything done on skis was done on skates way before, hahahahahaha. But a few years back skateboarding and snowboarding magazines said skating was gay. The sheep perpetuate the idea.

Nobody says rollerblading is more technical than skateboarding in the ammount of time it takes one to learn and execute manuevers, but rollerbladers go fucking huge and have been sedning it reguardless if some kid watching thinks it cool. That is what it is all about.

and yes.. skis that are like shoes are incredibly gay loooking.. like blades

last time i checked skik blading sucks...which are like rollerbaldes on snow
 
gohuckyourself has got it...blading is a small sport that everyone does for one sole reason...FUN...because no pro bladers get paid much at all.
 
well yeah.. if your having fun thats great...dont do something tahts not fun just cuz its cooler

but if u move beyond the generic "i like my world industries shirts" type of skater, you'll find the ones who also are just doing it for fun, and most of these kids know that there never gonna get paid for skating, but they do it for love of the sport. Every sport has that core crowd, who do something for no reason other than fun, and entertainment... and i guess the blading "core" crowd is larger, becaseu you have no posers who are going to just pretend rollerblade, becasue on a larger scale, bladding is not considered cool.. so sure..
 
bladings retarded. at skate parks they always were baggy white tees and sweat pants and think they are th shit.. even tho they go huge and do do sweet shit, skatings technicallity is so much more.. anywone on blades can 360 a spine, but its harder to just ollie a spine on a board
 
I have much respect for skateboarders but i rollerblade. I just think everyone should stop hating on rollerblading and open their eyes and realize that rollerblading is one of the sickest things out there but no one wants to do it because it has been labled gay.
 
plus those more core skateboarders generally dont have a problem with rollerbladers. Just the sheep that skateboard because everyone else is doing hate on rollerbladers cause everyone else is...
 
I did both and here's my conclusion:

skateboard has a better variety of trick (because of all the flip tricks)

inline has more creativity (switch up,...)

Ive never skated, but i used to blade, and I bmx now, and i assure you that rollerblading is not gay, nor are most of it's athletes "gay".
 
blading is why skiing is lame. skating is shit tons coler. just compare the skate vs. fruitbooting, er i mean blading communities.

yeah i think skateboarding is so much cooler, i dont have a problem with rollerblading i guess, but i just dont really like anything about it, the tricks and everything just look kinda dumb. skateboarding is so hard to get good at, and there are so many ways to be creative, just everything about it is cool.
 
i think bladers definatley go big, and do it just for fun, but it just doesn't look all that great. i think it looks like dancing or figure skating. in fact those sports are both difficult too, but they look all that hot. i dont blade or skate, but have tried both, and skating is fucking hard. i couldnt pump the miniramp if my life depended on it. but, like in any sport, those who rip dont really give a shit.
 
its hard to compare the two, i like skateboarding better because your not attached to the board, so there is more things you can do, but when i see someone who good at rollerblading i think its sick too
 
try doing that a skateboard... thats when it actually takes talet.

i cant' do a 5 kink on either, but i could tell you which one is harder
 
rolerblading isnt cool unless the people are black. skating is cool only when the poplr dont wear tight jeans, i prefer scooting
 
if someone can do a 50 kink rail or that like 200ft rail that one guy did, that pretty much proves that rails dont really take that much tallent on rollerblades.
 
I've been trying to learn to skate for a couple years, not putting much effort into it at that, but i just cant get the hang of it. If somebody gave me a good board i'd start but i dont want to learn on a wal-mart board because the wheels move like shit, and i dont want to spend 100+ dollars on a good board. I blade because ski, and play hockey, so my feet are always pointing forward when i am moving. I respect skating alot, because its something i cant do.
 
Well i use to to skateboard...then i just stoped and a year later went into rollerblading and ive done it ever sence and will never go back to skateboarding because rollerblading is 10x funner..although there are alot of skateboarders stepping it up..skateboarding has really grew..but rollerblading only went down but it will eventually come back up.
 
To call a sport gay or less hard or less cool or antyhing at all, is the most rediculous thing.

Please be less rediculous. They are both oh so obviously sick, as is snowblading, if they were doing sick stuff, as is surfing and dancing and anything.
