Hello skiers I'm from AK and skiing for rossi next year. I'm on the Freeride team in AK I don't ski directional but not sure if I should ride the BO due to the weight currently I ski the Kartel 116 186. What are pros and cons of the BO 118 and Super 7. Thank you.

I'm 15, 5'11 and prefer to ski big stiff skis.

Talk to the dude giving you the skis he should be able to help you pick out a filthy quiver.

Unless Rossignol plays the corporate game and shafts you but nonetheless.

Thanks but most people I talk to dont ski like me and say your dont need a 116 or 118 it’s personal preference. Ive been recomened the soul 7 more times than i can count

Black ops sounds like the closest ski out right now to the K116. The super 7 is a pretty heavily tapered directional ski vs the black ops and kartel which are way more progressive in terms of mount.

Yeah the Black Ops has a recommend mount of like -2.9

If you like the Kartel 116, the Black Ops 118 should feel super familiar. It's not that much heavier, and I'd argue it's a bit more versatile (better on firm snow). If you like to throw tricks and/or ski hard and fast in rough snow, I'd definitely recommend the Black Ops over the Super 7. The Black Ops is one of the most stable ~115mm+ skis I've ever been on. Definitely not the lowest swing weight, but there are few skis I'd rather be on for skiing variable snow. The Super 7 HD and RD are a bit easier to flick around in tight terrain, but at high speeds I'd take the Black Ops any day.

Bump still need more advice before i pull the trigger

It might help people offering advice if you could talk about your experience with the Kartel 116 — what do you like about it and what don't you like about it? Because unless you specifically hate the swing weight of the Kartel, I don't think there's any reason to go with the Super 7 as it's a very, very different ski (both the HD and RD) compared to the Kartel 116 and BO 118, whereas the Black Ops is quite similar to the Kartel.

The kartel 116 was a great ski I liked it more than the k108, due to the waist width. It was very playful and poppy. It performed super well and scored me a 2 and 3 place in the comps i did this year.

You are debating black ops or super 7s and you center mount everything? Ok dude.

Super 7s are like -8cm rec lol

The 7 series are garbage in my opinion. The black ops are a great ski and if you currently ride a Kartel 116 in a 186 you don’t need to worry about the weight. They’re gonna feel very similar in terms of swing weight.

Black ops are a tad bit stiffer, heavier and have a less playfull shape than k116s. I used them for free ride comps and they are super versatile and chargy at everything, love the bop 118, hate the whole super 7 dad ski line
